Murata's head was throbbing erratically as he felt his groggy eyes attempt to open. His vision was hazy as he stared at what appeared to be a wooden ceiling, his parched mouth gradually opened but the only sound that came out was a hoarse wheeze.

He could feel the faint presence of someone sitting on his bed and felt the need to reach out yet his movements were proven feeble in his weak state. He could tell the person was talking to him but all he could hear were hushed mutters.

"...rata... okay?"

Where was he?

"Wake..."

The last thing he remembered was going to protect a small town from a demon attack... how did he end up... wherever he was now?

He felt warmth on his shoulder and his murky eyes slowly drifted to the source. It traveled upwards until he could vaguely make out someone's face. That neatly cut bob that hung over his shoulders paired with soft round dark eyes almost looked like...

"Murata!" The person's voice on his bed pierced through his ears, jolting the boy to somewhat conscious senses. He slowly blinked and recognized that the voice belonged to his dear friend, Noguchi. "Are you alright, man?" said the boy as he smiled.

Murata opened his mouth once more to speak only for a feeble sound to flow out. The boy watched as Noguchi took a tall glass of water from the bedside table and put the rim against his rough mouth. "Drink up dude." Noguchi held back a chuckle as the water went down the boy's throat. "You sound like a dying cow."

After Murata gulped down a satisfying sip of the liquid, he coughed, "Where... where am I...?"

Noguchi pressed the rim of the glass up to his own lips and took a sip of Murata's water. "The Butterfly Mansion, silly." He put the glass back on the table. "You've been here since last night. You passed out in the rain after defeating a demon. And you said something along the lines of "Galaxy Breathing?" Whatever that is."

Ah, so his suspicions were correct, he did defeat that demon.

Yet he couldn't shake off the feeling that he was forgetting about something, or rather, someone.

Murata eyed the glass of water and gestured to his friend to let him have a sip. His partner obliged and pressed the glass against him as he took a big gulp. "Did... did I have anything else... with me?" Murata asked his hazy eyes gradually became accustomed to the bright lights in his bed.

Noguchi nodded, his black bangs bobbing up and down as he did so, "You had a bag with you." He bent down and picked up a bamboo-like bag that was sealed tight. "It was filled with a bunch of easy math books and a couple of children's books, I was about to ask you why you had them." The boy opened the bag and pulled out a thick book titled; "Easy Maths for 5-year-olds! – Special Cartoon Edition! 6,500 yen."
