"He will be here today."

Cross flinched, placing the book he was reading on the table in front of him and standing up from the couch.

"T-today?!"

X glared at him. His stare was enough to shut him up.

"Yes, and today we will know if he decides to stay in this wretched marriage with you or if he decides to throw you away."

Cross felt his soul drop. His gaze fell to the floor.
'Right... there was another woman.'

"Don't make that face, Cross. We all know this is your fault."

Cross didn't move an inch. He stayed still. Staring at the floor.

"LOOK AT ME WHEN IM TALKING TO YOU!!"

He immediately raised his head, shaking.
X only huffed.

"You're lucky if you manage to charm him at all today. You worthless brat."

Cross felt like crying, gripping onto his shirt tightly.

"Yes, sir..."

"I'll have a conversation with him first, I don't want you making a fool of yourself."

With that X left.

Cross couldn't help the tears that dropped down his face.

Why does he always have to get the short end of the stick?

~~~~~~~~~~
"Your Grace."
Cross perked up, turning to look at the servant calling his name.
"Lord Nightmare is here."
"Oh.."
The servant merely bowed her head to dimiss herself.
"He will meet you here soon, your Grace."
Cross stared out the window after she left. He was a nervous reck.
His brother wasn't treated like this, infact neither was his half-brother.
Papyrus was the favorite after-all. Chara was the one to always get away with certain things.
But when Cross did anything, such as move a finger, then it's a problem.
He doesn't know how long it's been.
He doesn't know how long he's been staring out the window.
But footsteps entering the room brought him out of his train of thought.
Quickly, he turned around, and to his surprise and dismay, standing not a few feet away from him was.
Nightmare.
Oh boy...
