They were in Nightmares vacant room, the one where his mother's portrait hung up high.

Where he first told him about his childhood.

Nightmare explained everything. Leaving nothing out.

And when he finished. There was nothing but silence.

"......."

Cross sat on the velvet couch, stunned.

For the first time ever, it was Nightmare who grew anxious.

Cross couldn't understand why someone would do something like Nightmare had.

'For someone like me...'

Tears welled up in his eyes.
"W-What...?"
He spoke softly.

"N-Nightmare-"

The Dark Lord swiftly got up and kneeled down infront of his lover, taking a hold of the smallers' hand in his.

"Darling, forgive me for not telling you everything sooner."
The taller said.
"I just.."

"....."

He sighed.
"I just needed you by my side because..."
He gently spoke, his voice almost a whisper as he lowered his head and placed it on the smallers knees.
"I love you... there's nothing to doubt about that."

"Nightmare..."

Nightmare continued to keep his head down.

"Dearest, I promise I'll make it up to you."

"My Lord..?"

"But.."
The Dark Lord raised his head.
"If you so wish for a divorce.. I shall grant it to you.."

'D-Divorce..?'

Tears made their way down Cross' face.

'N-No, we can't get a divorce, I can't go back..!'

"I-I don't want t-that.."
Tears continued to fall down the smallers' face as he continued to cry.
Nightmare stared at him.

"I d-dont wanna l-leave, I don't want too.. p-please d-don't let m-me go.."

'Dont send me away..'

"........"

Cross felt his partner touch on his face as he was brought up for a kiss.
It was pure and unadulterated.

It wasn't long after that they pulled away.

In eachothers embrace, they stayed. Nightmare comforting Cross as the smaller cried in his chest.

"You're okay, my dear."
Nightmare wiped his tears.

"I'll make this up to you, I promise."
