Of course she's here, too.
I haven't seen her at a single other weekend other than Miami, but the weekend that I'm with McLaren, she's here too.
Don't get me wrong, it's not like I hate her or anything. I just cannot stand it when she's all over him.
So much for ignoring him.
Every time I see them together, she's clinging to him like a disease. It's kind of disgusting to watch, but I can't tell if I feel that way because it's him or because it's truly gross.
While I'm watching the race from the screen in the garage, she comes up to me "Hey, I'm Elaine, Oscar's girlfriend." Her French accent is heavy in her words as she speaks, a large smile present on her face.
There isn't a hint of rudeness in her words, they're entirely genuine which leads me to believe she doesn't know about mine and Oscar's history.
"Savannah." I glance at her briefly to give her a smile before I turn back to the screen. "You're Lando's girlfriend?" She asks, careful and polite. It gets on my nerves a little.
For some reason, I want her to be rude to me. I guess if she had been rude to me, then I would have a reason to hate her. But she's perfect in every way and it makes hating her impossible.
I turn to her fully and try to return her energy, a smile on my face that I hope doesn't look fake. I shake my head. "No, we're only friends." She nods understandingly.
I can see how she may have gotten the narrative, I did go to the Miami event with him and I'm also here now. The two of us didn't really talk much at the event.
"So how did you and Oscar meet?" I thought for a moment it may have been an intruding question, but her face lights up and she launched instantly into an explanation.
They had met at some fashion event, her being a model during it. I never took Oscar as the fashion guy, but I guess breakups can change a person.
"How did you and Lando meet?" She asks as soon as she's done with her own story. "The first race of the season, we met in the paddock."
"Oh so did you meet Oscar, too?" I freeze momentarily, technically I didn't meet him then.
"Nope, not yet. He wasn't with Lando when I met him." I give her a reassuring smile. It's fake, but I'm sure she won't notice.
I've been purposely keeping a good distance between myself and Oscar all weekend, keeping my eyes away from him, too.
She doesn't say anything after that, just watches the screen with a soft smile on her lips.
I pull my phone from my back pocket to text my manager.
