Someone's phone is going off relentlessly. I don't know which of ours it is but the constant buzzing is making me go insane. It's woken me up and won't stop.

I draw my head back from Lando's chest to peek over his shoulder. It's my phone that's going off, the clock next to it reading 2:21.

I continue to ignore it, burying my head back into Lando's chest in the hopes that it'll just stop sometime soon. I'm too exhausted to answer it.

But it doesn't. Every time one call stops, the person calls again. By the third time they call back, I decide to answer it. Maybe it's something important that can't wait.

I pull Lando's arms off from around me, careful I don't wake him in the process. It's much easier to escape his grip when he isn't awake.

I reach over him to pluck the phone from the nightstand, slipping out of the sheets once I have it. The cold air of his apartment hits me instantly.

The small tank top and spandex I'm wearing not providing much coverage. I pull one of his quadrant hoodies off the back of the door and put it on before I leave the room.

I situate on the couch before I answer the call. "Oh, thank god. I'm sorry I woke you I just- I don't know anyone else and I can't get a hotel this late." I hadn't checked the caller ID before picking up.

Elaine is in hysterics on the other end of the line, hiccuping a couple times between her rushed words. "What's wrong? What happened?" I ask quickly, wondering what would've caused this much hysteria.

"I broke up with Oscar." Her words are barely intelligible through her choked sobs, but I'm able to make it out.

"Oh my god, uh yeah I'll send you the address." I say without thinking, my friend was clearly in a predicament and I had every desire to pull her out of it as quickly as possible.

"Lando doesn't mind it?" She asks through sobs. "No, not at all." I hadn't exactly asked him. He wasn't even awake to know what was going on, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind it.

"Where are you right now?" I question, hoping she's not on the streets in the middle on the night.

"Sitting in my rental." She replies with a sniff, her tears causing her nose to run much like the tears from her eyes.

"Okay, I'll see you when you get here. Please drive safely." I advise, earning a shaky 'yeah' from her end before she hangs up.

"Baby?" Lando calls from down the hallway, his voice rough from having just woke up. I must not have been as quiet as I though when getting out of bed. "Living room." I call out simply in response.

His footsteps against his wooden floors are his only indication of his approach, as he didn't say anything after I gave him my location. His footsteps stop right behind the couch. The silence is soon followed by the warm feeling of his arms wrapped around my neck from behind, and I reach a hand up to lock it over his.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you." I apologize, my thumb running over the beads of one of the bracelets on his wrist. "I don't think you woke me. Either way it's okay." He whispers gently, his thumb running against the palm of my hand as it's currently trapped under the hand.

"Who was that?" He asks, his head coming to rest on top on mine. The action putting pressure atop my head, but I don't mind. He carries a comforting feeling with him, his touch spreading the feeling.

"Elaine. She- you okay if she stays here for the night?" The pressure against my head disappears. I turn to face him, inspecting his shocked and confused expression.
