Oscar's povI follow her into the airport, her suitcase in my hand and her carryon hanging over my shoulder. She tried to be the one to carry them but I insisted against it, and she eventually gave up the fight.
Elaine has an early flight, it's four in the morning right now, her flight is at five. I don't want her to go, but she has a modeling campaign to shoot in Paris later this week, so she can't follow me to Canada.
She sits down in one of the seats after locating her gate, I sit next to her, my arm coming up around her shoulders as she rests her head against my arm.
I can faintly hear the music through her earbuds. I recognize the melody of the soft piano chords, but I couldn't say which song it was even if I wanted to. It's some Taylor song, I'm sure of that much.
I run my hand through her hair, stopping at times to massage her scalp before continuing. I scroll through my socials to pass the time, liking a couple of the posts.
At about ten minutes before her flight began to board, Elaine makes no effort to start readying herself. Usually she likes to be completely prepared in any situation.
When I look down at her, she's asleep on my arm. She looks so peaceful, I almost feel bad for waking her, but if I don't she'll miss her flight.
"Lainie," I shake her shoulder and she stirs a little, but doesn't wake. "Cmon Lain," I try again, and this time she actually does wake up. She blinks a couple times to adjust her eyes to the brightness of the airport's florescent lights.
I draw shapes into her shoulder as she wakes herself up. I'm not in a rush to wake her up, knowing she'll still be fully ready by the time they begin to board.
She stands, gathering her stuff from me, double checking everything for the hundredth to make sure it's all there. I stand with her, my arms coming up around her neck as she brings hers around my torso and buries her head into my chest.
"You're coming to Austria, right?" I ask when we pull back. She nods in confirmation. "Call me when you land, yeah?" Another nod from her.
They call her flight over the intercom, announcing its boarding now. "Okay, I'll see you then. And I'll call you every night." I kiss the top of her head, and she kisses me on the lips. "I love you." She whispers loud enough for me to hear.
"I love you, too." I whisper back before she leaves to board her plane. I watch her until she's completely out of sight.

Savannah is with McLaren this weekend. It seems she's switching back and forth between Williams and us.
She's leaned against a table on Lando's side of the garage, her phone propped up against the wall as she talks to someone on the phone before the race.
Something has clearly picked up her interest, because she stands straight, pausing for a moment before turning and looking right at me.
She smiles, picks up the phone and starts walking right to me. Part of me begins to panic and I don't know why.
Once she reaches me, she puts the phone on speaker and hands me the phone. "Hi Osc!" I'm stunned for a moment at the face on the other side of the screen.
"Hey Lainie!" I reply just as enthusiastically, but my mind still doesn't seem to understand why my ex was on a call with my girlfriend.
"Good luck with the race! I'm watching you from here." She smiles and turns the camera around to show her television and laptop, where the sky sports broadcast is currently being streamed on both devices. One will probably be used to follow from my tv pod the whole race.
"I'll catch up with you after the race, I love you."
"I love you, too." I hand the phone back to Sav, who takes the phone and goes back to what she was doing previously, leaned back up against the counter.
Lando emerges from the hall he had just been warming up in, suit hanging around his waist with his gloves in his hand.
He scans the room for a moment, before his eyes land on Sav. He quickly moves to her side, a hand on the small of her back. He's standing so close to her I fear they may fuse into one person.
I watch as she hangs up the phone, placing her AirPods back in their case and slipping them into her pocket. She turns to face Lando, their bodies now fully facing each other. Her hands go to rest on her chest and his arms are wrapped around her waist.
Words I can't hear are exchanged between the two. Lando looks down at her as if she's saying the most interesting thing ever and she looks up at him with nothing but admiration.
What the fuck?
The scene makes my head hurt, so I turn away and talk to one of my mechanics instead.

Lando is ahead of me, but not by much. Something inside of me tells me to overtake him, to show him up. I don't know why, it's not like I've ever felt like Lando's an enemy, but right now I have the burning feeling to show him up.
"Keep this pace. Stay behind Lando." Team orders. I hate team orders. I could put up a fight against Lando right now, but if I did who knows what repercussions I'd face.
"P3 Oscar. Awesome job, man." Tom congratulates over the radio. In the background, I can hear Zak yelling in celebration over the double podium. I can practically see the aggressive high fives and back pats he's giving everyone.
I thank the team over the radio, knowing my reaction to my first podium will no doubt cause social media to talk about being too calm.
I get to parc ferme, Lando following closely behind. The both of us jumping out of our cars to celebrate with the team together.
Savannah is standing with the team at the very front. "Great drive, Oscar." She gives me a genuine smile and taps the top of my helmet twice, something she used to do whenever I would podium in the junior categories.
And then she hugs me. Her touch on my skin burns through the thick race suit and fireproof shirt underneath, setting fire to every place her skin touches me.
And I hate it. I hate the feeling it gives me. I hate that I let her go in the first place. I hate that I'm thinking about her like this. I hate it all.
But I still hug her back. Even if I didn't want to, I still think my heart would betray my head and still wrap my arms around her neck. Thankfully, it's only short lived.
Lando gives her a hug too, theirs lasting longer than ours. The hug doesn't shock me, but what follows does.
Lando pulls back and quickly removes both his helmet and his balaclava before he moves closer to her again. His hand goes to her chin and pulls her face toward his.
And he kisses her.
