sav's pov
Since Bahrain, I've been a mess.
Ever since I saw his face again, I can't stop thinking about him. He's invaded my every thought and I almost hate him for it.
He's opened a wound I spent so much time delicately stitching together. It took me months to patch that wound, and he ripped it wide open without even knowing it.
Now every emotion I felt that day he left seeps through the open wound and stains my skin, forcing me to feel it at all times.
I've even dug the stuffed ostrich he gifted me out from the bottom of my closet. It's my favorite animal, and he thought it was so funny that he bought me the four foot tall stuffy.
It's been placed on the couch in my bedroom ever since I came home from the GP. That was two months ago.
God, I sound so pathetic.
The buzz of my phone in my back pocket saves me from my sorrows. The name that's attached to the notification doesn't come as a shock to me. The two of us have been texting since we met in Bahrain and have become good friends since.
Lando
Hey Sav!
Hi Landoooo
So there's a McLaren event in Miami tn, do you want to go with me as my plus one?
Yeah sounds fun just send me the info!
It took me awhile to answer him. I know if I go, I'll see Oscar. But I don't want to turn Lando down because of my relationship problems.
It's not even a relationship problem, it's just a me problem.
I shuffle through the multiple dresses in my closet before deciding on a light blue one. It's a simple dress that teaches down to my ankles, the dress would be entirely plain if it weren't for the corset-like portion below the cups.
I pluck it from the group, laying it out on my bed as my phone begins to buzz beside it, Lando's contact appearing on the screen with a FaceTime request.
"Heeeyyy saaaaavvv!" He greets when I pick up, his tone leaves me skeptical. "Lando?" He bites his bottom lip, clearly biting back a cheeky smile at whatever he's about to say.
"I'm on my way to your place so be ready in like 40." I didn't notice it before but I notice now how he's driving as he talks to me, glancing down briefly to catch my reaction.
My mouth falls open slightly, my brows knitting together in confusion. "What? Why? The party isn't for another... five hours?" I check his text once again, confirming that's the correct time. "And then you'll have to drive me all the way back here after, Lando it's a waste of your time turn around." I try to talk some sense into the brunette, but he just shakes his head laughing.
"Doesn't bother me one bit." He shrugs and I let out a long sigh. "Okay, fine." I give in, knowing he probably won't be giving up on it anytime soon. "Also, you shouldn't drive while talking on the phone, it's very dangerous."
He laughs at my cautious tone. "What do you think I do on the radios every weekend?" I think over the sarcastic comment, realizing he's got a very valid point. "Okay, yeah. But I'll see you when you get here. Bye Lando." He smiles, trying to wave in frame while keeping his eyes on the road and failing terribly.
