Back to present time...
Chaeyoung POV
"Chaeyoung, I found evidence that Ms. Young gave a false statement to the judges and she bribed your friend's family as well."
"What took you so long? I knew this woman is shady as hell."
"Well, I do need concrete evidence about that. I can't just say it. Oh, the good part is she did this not only to you, but a lot of people also suffered because of this."
"Oh my god, how lucky are we..." I sarcastically answered Kai. Then there's Dr. Byun, and he looks pale, staring at me.
"Oh, Dr. Byun, hello. Should we head inside?" I nodded, feeling a sudden urge to see Ms. Young in an orange suit.
The courtroom was filled with anticipation. The air was thick with tension, but I was determined not to let it affect me.
The trial then began. The judges allowed Dr. Byun to testify about my well-being, and he provided a positive statement, ultimately attesting to the fact that I am a good person. I couldn't help but smirk; he might look impressive, but it's a shame he lacks the courage.
Next, Ms. Young took the stand, asserting that I hadn't changed at all. But before she could continue, Kai requested permission to speak, and the judges granted him that opportunity.
As the judges reviewed the concrete evidence presented by Kai, it became increasingly apparent that Ms. Young's actions were not only unethical but also a gross abuse of her position as a prosecutor. The weight of her false statements and manipulation of the legal process became undeniable.
Before the judges' deliberation, Ms. Young turned to Kai with a mix of concern and desperation in her eyes. "Kai, you can't seriously believe any of this. I've always acted in the best interest of justice."
Kai met her gaze sternly. "Ms. Young, the evidence tells a different story. This isn't just about my client, it's about the integrity of the legal system. You manipulated evidence and misled the court. This needs to be addressed."
Ms. Young attempted to maintain her composure. "Kai, you're making a mistake. I have a reputation to uphold, and you're threatening to tarnish it. Think about the consequences."
Kai's resolve remained unshaken. "The consequences of your actions are already evident. Innocent lives have been affected, and justice demands accountability."
As the judges continued their deliberation, Ms. Young's confidence waned. She had underestimated the impact of her misconduct on the case.
When the lead judge delivered the verdict, Ms. Young looked at Kai, frustration and disbelief evident in her expression. "This can't be happening. I've dedicated my career to this."
Kai responded, firm but empathetic, "Your dedication should have been to justice, not manipulation. This is the right outcome for my client and for the truth."
As Ms. Young was taken into custody, the courtroom gasped, the culmination of her actions leading to a dramatic fall from grace.
With Ms. Young's fate sealed, you walked out of the courtroom, feeling a sense of closure and relief. The journey had been arduous, but justice had prevailed, and you were ready to move forward with a renewed sense of hope.
The courtroom held its breath as the judges deliberated. Ms. Young, once so confident, now seemed visibly shaken. Her attempts to defend her actions were falling apart under the weight of the truth.
After what felt like an eternity, the lead judge spoke, "Based on the evidence presented and the gravity of the misconduct, we find the accusations against the defendant to be false, and we rule in favor of releasing Chaeyoung."
As I walked out of the courtroom, I couldn't help but feel a sense of closure. The truth had prevailed, and justice had been served. My promise to make her face the consequences had come true, and I knew that this chapter of my life was finally coming to an end.
