Someone's POV
"She's been gone for too long, but what the hell did i just found out? She's having a sweet moment with our target? Well this girl need some lessons.. Alright you know what to do."
"But sir, how about MIngyu?"
"I got this information from Mingyu himself, he probably just cried in the corner all gloomy and stuff.. You finish this and you will get your payment."
"Yes sir."
"Good girl. now go!"
I took my lovely baby sniper rifle and put it on my back. I changed my appearance into my normal self, the emo me. I checked through the scope—is my sniper rifle working? It's working really well. I looked at myself in the mirror and sighed, really sorry for this, Mingyu. I know he has feelings for our one and only Rosie, even though I would always be behind him, supporting him. But yeah, it is what it is.
"Miyeon-ssi!" I don't need to turn around to know whose voice that is. I keep on walking, my heels clacking with every single step I take.
"Stop right now!" I pretend not to hear him, but I can hear his steps quickening, and he grabs my arm, only for me to twist his hand away.
"He told you to do this, huh?" We look at each other like predators eyeing each other.
"Mingyu-ssi, this is my line of work. I have feelings for her too, she's my friend, but we have to act professionally, don't we?" I say, keeping my voice steady, though his intensity is hard to ignore.
"Fuck it, Miyeon-ssi, you still think about work while knowing she's our friend?" he snaps, his eyes burning with a mix of anger and desperation. He looks at me like I've lost my mind, like I'm some heartless machine that can't see beyond the job.
I sigh, rubbing my temple in frustration. "Mingyu, it's not that simple. You think I don't care? That this doesn't tear me up inside? But this is what we do. We can't pick and choose when to follow orders."
His grip on my arm tightens, his knuckles turning white. "You don't get it, do you? She's not just another target, Miyeon. She's different. She's... she's family."
I flinch at the word, the weight of it crashing down on me. Family. The one thing that used to mean everything but now feels like a distant memory in our line of work. I force myself to meet his gaze, steeling my nerves. "And what do you want me to do, Mingyu? Turn against everything we've built? Risk everything for one person?"
He lets go of my arm, his expression softening just enough to show the hurt beneath his anger. "Maybe... maybe we should. For once, maybe we should put people over protocol."
For a moment, his words hang between us, and I see the cracks in his tough exterior. He's scared, and so am I. But we've chosen this path, and it's paved with choices that aren't always ours to make. I look at him, struggling to keep my voice firm even as doubt creeps in. "I wish it were that easy. But it never is."
Mingyu turns away, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "We're going to regret this, Miyeon. I know we will."
I watch him walk away, his figure disappearing into the shadows, and deep down, I know he's right. The line between work and personal has never felt thinner, and the consequences have never felt more real.
