Mingyu POV
It's been weeks since Chaeyoung left for her mission, but I can't shake the feeling that my dad is hiding something from me. I've been trying to focus on my own tasks within the organization, but my thoughts keep drifting back to her. She's a strong and determined person, and I believe in her abilities, but the silence and uncertainty are starting to wear on me.
I decided to pay a visit to my dad's office, hoping to gather some information or at least find some reassurance. As I entered the room, he looked up from his paperwork, his expression a mix of seriousness and concern.
"Dad, can we talk?" I asked, trying to keep my tone steady.
He motioned for me to take a seat, and I did so, feeling a sense of anticipation building in the air. "What's on your mind, Mingyu?"
"I've noticed that there's been a lot of secrecy around Chaeyoung's mission. I know it's classified, but... is there something you're not telling me?"
He sighed, leaning back in his chair and locking eyes with me. "Mingyu, I understand your concern, and I appreciate your loyalty to Chaeyoung. But there are some things that I can't disclose at the moment, even to you."
I frowned, my frustration bubbling to the surface. "Uncle, she's not just a colleague. She's my partner, my friend. If there's something wrong, I have a right to know."
He then chuckled bitterly, "I know how much you care for her, my son. She'll be fine. Besides, I've given her answers; she just needs to be smart enough to solve it."
"What did you do..." I could feel that something was off. Just then, I heard a soft knock, and the room's attention shifted to the door.
"Come on in!" My dad said, and the door opened to reveal Miyeon with blonde hair and a white dress that fit perfectly on her slim body. Her makeup looked bold and different from her usual self.
"Mr. Park, I'm here." She bowed respectfully and then looked surprised to see me there.
"Ah, Mingyu, if you don't have anything else to say, you can go out. I need to talk privately with Ms. Cho." I decided to wait for Miyeon's explanation outside.
Miyeon POV
I walked out from Mr. Park office only to get strangled with a stranger, i know who he is, by his perfume smell and body figure.
"If you scream I'll fuck you." He whispered in my ear. I nodded my head and chuckled.
"Like you have that bravery to do that."
"Cho Miyeon, what have you done?" Mingyu look at me while leaning against the wall.
"Nothing that concerns you." I folded my arms in front of my chest.
"Really? If that's what you thought..." Mingyu then pinned me against the wall and whispered, "Just because you're Chaeyoung's best friend, it doesn't mean you can keep things from me. I won't be gentle either."
I knew how much Mingyu cared about Chaeyoung, and I did too. But this mission was more about keeping an eye on Chaeyoung – making sure she was doing fine.
"Sorry, Mingyu..." I uttered, but just as I spoke, Mingyu grabbed my arm. In a swift motion, I twisted out of his grip, using my agility to my advantage. Among the three of us, I was the smallest, so I relied on speed and strategy. If I were to engage in a spar with Chaeyoung, chances were high that I'd end up on the losing side.
Seeing an opening, I seized the opportunity and swiftly evaded Mingyu's grasp. As I retreated, I muttered an apology under my breath, feeling a mix of guilt and urgency. When I glanced back, Mingyu was no longer in sight, giving me the chance to escape his pursuit.
