Rose POV

"Take your time, baby... I'm going to wait until you're ready." Jungkook's voice was calm, but I could sense the curiosity and concern beneath it. I knew he deserved to know the truth, but there were things that might make him angry or disappointed in me.

Am I ready for that?

What if he kills Mingyu? I know what Mingyu did was unjustified. He barged in, but I think I understand why—his uncle might have demanded something. It's been a while since I reported to them.

I've grown attached to the warmth I feel here, with Jungkook. Am I ready for the consequences? If I tell him the truth, I might be labeled a traitor. I could end up hurting Jungkook, the girls, and everyone I've befriended in his mafia group.

I take a deep breath, feeling the weight of my confession press against my chest. Jungkook's arms around me are steady, but I can sense the tension building. His patience, something I never thought I'd see in someone like him, makes this even harder.I pull back slightly, meeting his dark eyes. They're filled with curiosity, concern, and a growing storm I can't ignore.

"Jungkook... there's something you need to know," I begin, my voice trembling. "Mingyu didn't come here just because of jealousy. It's more than that."

His expression tightens, concern etching deeper into his features. "What do you mean, Rose?"I hesitate, feeling my heart pound in my chest. "My name... it's not Rose. It's Park Chaeyoung. And I'm not just some girl you met on the streets. I'm part of another mafia, Jungkook. I was sent here, undercover, to keep an eye on you. To gather intel."

His entire body tenses, his grip on me hardens just slightly as his eyes search mine, trying to make sense of what I'm saying.

"I knew who you were the moment I met you," I admit, voice barely above a whisper. "I knew you were the head of the Jeon Syndicate. But I didn't expect this... I didn't expect to fall for you."His jaw clenches, the calmness slipping from his expression. "You were sent to spy on me."

I nod, my voice cracking as I continue. "Yes, but things changed. I haven't reported anything to them in weeks. I couldn't. I've fallen in love with you, Jungkook. I didn't choose this life, and I sure as hell didn't choose to betray you. I've been caught between my duty and my heart, but my loyalty now lies with you."

He steps back, his eyes darkening with something I can't quite read—hurt, betrayal, anger. It's all there, swirling behind his stoic exterior.

"You were playing me this whole time? Park Chaeyoung..." He says my real name with such bitterness that it stings. "Do you have any idea what you've done?"

I swallow hard, fighting back the tears. "I know what this means in our world, Jungkook. But I swear to you, I stopped following orders. I didn't care about the mission anymore. All I cared about was you."

He rubs a hand over his face, his mind clearly racing. The silence between us is suffocating, the weight of my confession hanging heavy. Jungkook's fists clench at his sides, and I can see the battle inside him—the trust we built clashing with the betrayal I've just revealed.

"You knew all along, didn't you?" His voice is low, controlled, but there's an edge to it that tells me he's fighting to keep his composure. "You knew I was a mafia leader. And you played your part perfectly."

"I wasn't playing a part when I was with you," I say, tears stinging my eyes. "I didn't choose this, but I chose you. I know what this could mean, for both of us. But I don't want to lose you, Jungkook."

For the first time, I see a flicker of doubt in his eyes, as if he's torn between the loyalty he once held for me and the brutal truth of who I really am. He turns away from me, running a hand through his hair, lost in thought.

Finally, he speaks, his voice softer but no less dangerous. "You've put us both in a dangerous position, Chaeyoung."

I nod, swallowing the lump in my throat. "I know. But I don't care about the consequences anymore. All I care about is being with you."

Jungkook's eyes meet mine again, this time less guarded, but I can still see the storm brewing beneath. There's a long pause as he processes everything, his mind no doubt weighing the risks and consequences of what I've just admitted. But deep down, I know he's battling something else too—feelings that neither of us expected.

Finally, he speaks coldly. "This changes everything."
