In the morning...

Chaeyoung POV

I woke up with a throbbing headache, a clear sign that I had consumed more alcohol than I should have. I usually pride myself on being able to handle my liquor, but last night seemed to be an exception. It's not like I'm unfamiliar with a good time, but this time, I might have gone a bit overboard.

As I tried to piece together the events of the previous night, a vague memory emerged from the haze. I recalled the pulsating music, the laughter, and the kaleidoscope of lights at the nightclub. Amidst the blur, there was a distinct feeling that I had caught someone's attention, someone intriguing.

The memory of that conversation with the guy with the striking appearance, sporting tattoos and piercings, dressed casually in black, left a lasting impression. His well-toned body exuded confidence, and there was an undeniable air of danger around him. Most would have been intimidated, but I had lived a life where fear was a constant companion, and nothing fazed me anymore.

I decided to drink some glasses of water to cure my hangover. Then I heard a loud bell ringing. I tried to ignore it, but it kept ringing incessantly. I groaned in frustration and opened the door, only to reveal Eun Woo with a bucket of flowers in his hand.

"Congratulations! I'm really sorry I couldn't make it yesterday..." I nodded and smiled, appreciating his kindness.

"Oh, Eun Woo ya, you're here?" said Mingyu while leaning against the wall of the room.

"Yeah... You guys still live here together?"

"Why, are you jealous?" Mingyu says with a mischievous grin on his face. I playfully punch him in the stomach, and he groans in pain.

"Don't mind him, he's just teasing you," I said while putting the flowers in a vase and pouring some water into it.

"Oh, I brought you some waffles and bagels," Eun Woo said while placing a tray on the table.

"Yoo, thanks man!" Mingyu exclaimed, his mouth already stuffed with one of the bagels.

I couldn't help but chuckle at Mingyu's enthusiasm for food. It was always fun to see him devouring anything edible within arm's reach.

"Eun Woo, this is great! You're a lifesaver," I said, genuinely grateful for his thoughtful gesture.

"No problem, glad you like it," he replied with a warm smile. Eun Woo always had a calming presence, and it was comforting to have him around, especially after the eventful night at the nightclub.

"So, Chaeyoung-ssi, how are you? I mean, are you okay?" He gazed at me, his hand gently intertwining with mine, caressing it. I smiled back at him. Eun Woo was like a 'gateway' for me. What I meant is that we had a connection, a special understanding, but I'd been upfront with him about not wanting traditional relationships. It wasn't about him not being nice; in fact, he was incredibly kind. It was more about me feeling like I wasn't up to his standards, that I wasn't good enough. So, we'd never labeled our connection as a relationship. Until that mysterious guy popped up in my mind, and i seem to be unable to shake the memory of our encounter at the nightclub. It was strange, considering my usual disinterest in such matters.

"Chaeyoung?" I smiled nervously at Eun Woo, realizing my mind was wandering again to that mysterious and attractive stranger.

"Yeah, I'm fine, I'm good. You?"

"I miss you..."

"Yeah, Eun Woo, me too..."

"So Chaeyoung, i was hoping to take you eat dinner tonight, are you down for it?" Before i could answer, my phone rang. I excused myself and took my phone in my bedroom.

"Hello?"

"Chaeyoung, i heard you're a free woman now." said the other man.

"Really? Teddy oppa, you think i won't be a free woman?" He chuckled. Teddy oppa is my uncle, well basically he's the one that provided me and Mingyu, he took care of us.

"I got a job for you, better be ready. Take Mingyu with you." I ended the call.

"Hey, sorry about that. It was an important call," I said as I returned to the living room. Eun Woo looked understanding but also a bit let down.

"Oh, it's okay. Maybe some other time then?" he replied, attempting to sound casual. I could tell he was trying not to reveal his true feelings.

"Yeah, definitely," I replied with a genuine smile, appreciating his understanding.

We chatted for a little while longer, and then Eun Woo left, giving me a friendly hug before he headed out the door. I watched him go, feeling a mix of emotions. He was a great guy, and I valued our connection, but there was someone else on my mind, someone who had intrigued me in a different way.
