Rosé POV

I took a deep breath, trying to steady my racing heart and conflicted emotions. "Jungkook, I saw what happened."

He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I know it looked bad but let me explain."

"There's no need. It's none of my business," I said, my voice a mix of hurt and frustration.

He took a step closer, his gaze never leaving mine. "It is your business, Rosé. Because you... you mean something to me."

I scoffed, my guard still up. "Mean something? What do I mean to you? Some fuckin toy?"

He shook his head, his eyes pleading. "No, you're not just that. You're different, Rosé. When I'm with you, it's like... everything else fades away. I didn't invite that woman in, she came on her own. I pushed her away because it's you I care about."

I felt my resolve waver as his words sunk in. It was hard to deny the sincerity in his eyes, the way he bared his feelings to me. But I couldn't let myself be hurt again. "Jungkook, I can't just ignore what I saw."

He stepped even closer, his hand reaching out to gently cup my cheek. "I don't expect you to ignore it. But I want you to know the truth. I want you to give me a chance to explain."

I hesitated, torn between my hurt feelings and the undeniable connection I felt with him. His thumb brushed over my cheek, sending shivers down my spine. "Please, Rosie... I need you to understand."

I looked into his eyes, searching for any sign of deceit. All I saw was honesty and vulnerability. Maybe, just maybe, he deserved a chance to explain himself. With a sigh, I nodded reluctantly. "Fine, explain."

A relieved smile tugged at his lips, and he started to recount the events of the evening – how the woman had unexpectedly shown up and he had pushed her away immediately. His story matched with what I had seen, and a sense of regret washed over me for jumping to conclusions.

As he finished explaining, he took a step closer, his forehead resting against mine. "I'm sorry for everything, Rosé. I never meant to hurt you."

I closed my eyes, feeling the warmth of his breath against my skin. "I just... I don't want to be someone's second choice."

He lifted my chin gently, making me meet his gaze. "You're not a second choice. You're my priority, Rosé. Please believe me."

His words resonated deep within me, and despite my initial reservations, I felt my heart softening. Maybe there was something real between us, something worth exploring. As I looked into his eyes, I saw a sincerity that was hard to ignore.

"Okay, Jungkook. I'll give you a chance," I whispered, my heart cautiously opening up to the possibility of something more.

He smiled, his hand still cradling my cheek. "Thank you, Rosie."

With his lips just inches from mine, I felt the magnetic pull between us once again. This time, I leaned in, closing the gap between us in a gentle, tender kiss – a silent promise of understanding, forgiveness, and the potential for a new beginning.

Jungkook POV

As I held her in my arms, watching her sleep peacefully, a mix of emotions swirled within me. Her presence felt so right, so comforting, and I wished that this moment could stretch on forever. But reality loomed, reminding me of the stark differences between our worlds.

I gently kissed her forehead, my heart yearning for more moments like this. However, the truth was undeniable – she deserved a life far removed from the dangers and uncertainties of my world. My life as a member of the underground was rife with complexities and darkness, and I couldn't bear the thought of bringing her into that.

I sighed softly, brushing a strand of hair away from her face. As much as I wanted to keep her close, I knew deep down that she deserved happiness and security that I couldn't provide. The conflict within me was palpable – my feelings for her were real, but so were the barriers that stood between us.

I continued to watch her sleep, the weight of my emotions heavy in my chest. The morning light began to filter through the curtains, casting a warm glow on her peaceful form. I wanted nothing more than to protect her, even if it meant stepping away from her life. But for now, I would cherish these stolen moments, knowing that our paths were destined to cross in the most unexpected ways.
