(S2) Chapter 8 - Off By A Mile

"Cool right?" Denzo pointed at the watch.

Miles continued to explore the masks features. "Interstingly enough, I'm getting a headache."

"Yeah that happens to almost everyone the first time. Not me though because I use technology alot." Denzo stated.

"I didn't notice. Anyway I think it'll take me some time to get used to the mask, but other than that this suit will work." Miles took the mask off.

"Okay. Anyway I think we made them wait enough... we should go back yeah?" Denzo opened the elevator from his watch.

"Yup." Miles started to follow Denzo to the elevator.

(transition incoming....)

"Where are they? Does it really take that long to get a suit that looks okay?!" Gwen sighed and started to pace around the battlefield.

"Give them some time... I think you'll like the suit he chooses!" Denzy smirked.

"Your not funny-" Miles walked out of the elevator.

"Ok, am I ready?" Miles looked over at Denzy.

"Indeed." Denzy nodded and gave Denzo an air fist bump.

"You look good. Nice job on the suit picking." Gwen pulled down her mask. "Why didn't you get one with web shooters built in though?"

"Because, I wanted to use the ones you gave me.." Miles looked away blushing a little bit. "Because y'know, I know how to use them!"

"Ok then..." Gwen didn't look away, since she had her mask on to automatically hide blushing in the first place.

"Alright, you guys ready?" Denzo said rubbing his hands together and smiling excitedly.

Miles put on his mask and got into a fighting stance.

Gwen started to laugh and get into her own stance.

"Alright remember guys, Miles you can't use webs and Gwen you can only use yours to stun him, not to swing around him. Got it?" Denzy said.

They both nodded and waited for the go signal.

Miles balled up his fist, electricity dancing around his arms.

"Begin!" Denzo and Denzy said eating popcorn.

Instantly, Miles dashed towards Gwen in an attempt to swing at her. She dodged and shot a web at his hand to prevent attacks for a while. Miles electricity instantly de-strung the webs and he instantly jumped at her.

Instinctively she dodged and looked around for him but he was no where to be found. From behind her sounds of electricity started buzzing and her spider senses went off heavily. Miles appeared from his camouflage a abilities and leaped towards her and pinned her to the floor.0.

"Hey! Your supposed to hit not tackle!" Gwen snarled.

"You don't actually expect me to hurt you right?" Miles started to laugh. "I can go invisible, so that wouldn't be fair. Come on let's get up." Miles stood up and held out his hand for Gwen to grab. Gwen grabbed his hand and stood up.

"Why aren't you guys fighting?" Denzo raised an eyebrow.

"I don't think it makes much sense to try and go against each other without knowing my power limits." Miles took off his mask and grinned a little bit.

"Eh... I guess you "are" technically right. Because if someone gets hurt it'll be harder to treat it..." Denzo pouted and sat back  yourselves." Denzy stood up.

"Makes sense. I'm going to go back to my room." Miles started to walk towards the elevator, Gwen followed him and waved the others goodbye.

"You better do something..." Denzy mouthed the words to Gwen as the elevator doors opened.

Gwen pulled down her mask to hide the blushing she was going through.

"What's wrong?" Miles took off his mask a little skeptical.

"N... n... nothing! Mind your business damn it!"  Gwen continued to look away from Miles.

"Well geez, no need to be so rude." Miles scoffed and pressed the button to their floor.

They reached their floor and got out of the elevator.

"Okay well.. I'm going to go in my room. And make dinner or something." Miles started to unlock his door.

"Wait! Do you want to uh..." Gwen looked over at Miles blushing slightly.

Miles looked over and raised an eyebrow.

"Do you want to come have dinner with me?" Gwen stuttered out.

"Hmm... why not. You're room probably looks better then mines anyway." Miles put his key away and walked to the side of Gwen, waiting for her to unlock the door.

She unlocked the door and lead him in, closing the door behind them.
