Neverland {Levi Ackerman}

Chapter 23

Fable aims towards the people heading their way as Levi still kneels on the MP. She watches as the get closer. Both of them sigh in relief when they realize it was Hange and Moblit.
                  "What the hell are you two doing?" Levi asks looking them.
                  "I've come bearing good news," Hange says.
                  Armin went to grab a lantern so they could see.
                    Fable leans over to Levi and whispers to him, "when are you going to treat me like that in bed."
                  Levi looks at the guy on the ground and then back up at Fable. "What the hell is wrong with you?" he asks as Hange joins them.
                      "Awww how long have you guys been back together?" they asks handing Levi a piece of paper.
                  Levi looks at Hange before sitting down on a stump. Fable stands over him and everyone else gathers around to read over Levi's shoulders.
                 "And there are you have it the coo was successful," Hange says, "Premier Zachary now has full control of the government for the time being at least the nobles seem to be staying in line."
              "What about the incident with Mr. Reeves?" Armin asks
                "We got a public confession out of one of the interior police," Hange states looking at everyone, "it's all written right there."
                 Fable continues reading the page.
                 "In short we're not longer criminals," Hange states smiling.
               Fable smiles watching the kids cheer. She wraps her arms around Levi's neck kissing his cheek softly as he says, "looks like Erwin's gamble paid off."
              "That it did," Hange says smiling at the cadets, "it wasn't just Erwin. There was a lot of people had to make a lot of hard choices for this to work."
              "Where my choices got three of you're people killed," he says standing next to Hange, "I'm sorry. Here's the thing the interior might have lost but not all of them know it. They still have Eren and Historia too. We need to find them quickly."
               "Right I think I know where they might be," Hange says lifting up a book, "let's get there and put an end to this fight."
                 Fable looks at Hange walking towards a wagon. She looks over Levi who was already looking at her. She walks over to him.
                "Captain you look what you're looking at," she says winking at him. 
                  "Come here you brat," he says pressing his lips against hers.
                  "I was kinda hoping we'd stay criminals, then I could tell my mom that I'm in love with one," she says as they start walking to the wagon, "though she wouldn't approve, but she's dead so she doesn't really have a say."
                   She looks at the ground as she looks up noticing Levi wasn't beside her but stopped behind her.
                   "What?" She asks looking at him.
                   "Nothing come on brat," he says walking pass her.
                    Fable smiles running after him putting her hand into his. Once at the wagon, Levi gets on them helps Fable on.
                     "I better be invited to the wedding or something," Hange says the two sit down next to each.
                      "Hange let's finish this shit and then we can talk about that," Levi says feeling Fable her head onto his shoulder.
Levi looks down at the girl as she picks fingers. She anxious. Levi sighs taking one of her hands into his. He brings it to his lips placing a kiss against it. Fable watches him do it. She smiles softly watching as he brings her hand back to her side.
"Hange. You said you might know where they are?" Mikasa asks causing Fable's attention to be drawn to her.
"Oh yeah. Guess I should explain how," Hange says holding up the book, "Erwin gave me this Scout report from an investigation on Lord Reiss' land. It details a certain incident that occurred five years ago on the Reiss estate."
"Five years?" Armin asks causing Fable to sit looking at Hange.
"That's right. It was the day Wall Maria was breached," Hange continues, "I'll summarize the most important parts from the beginning. So as far as regional lord go. Lord Reiss was fair and well respected by the people. He had five children. The most well-known of them was his eldest daughter Frieda. She was a down to earth girl who even the peasants adored. But five years ago on that night, disaster struck. With the fall of Wall Maria plunging the world into chaos, bandits raided and set fire to the only chapel around. Unfortunately for them, the entire Reiss family had gathered there to pray. And so, the entire family was massacred by bandits that night, save one. Only Rod Reiss managed to escape with his life. To top it all off, this incident occurred just a few days before Historia's mother was killed by the interior police. So we know in the immediate wake of losing his family, Rod Reiss sought out Historia. And something tells me that it wasn't out of a newfound paternal affection."
"Well she is of royal blood," Levi says looking down, "or do you think that bloodline has some other secret?"
"It's possible but I'm not sure yet. What really stood out to me at least, was the fact that large parts of the chapel were destroyed. The chapel was built from stone. It would take a lot of time and effort to destroy it," Hange states looking down at the book," if it was bandits, they'd have take what they could and made a quick escape. Also, Lord Reiss was the only witness. No one confirmed his story. Then Lord Reiss rebuilt the chapel with his personal fortune almost immediately. What was his rush? When you think about it, the story could only make sense if it involved a Titan attack. It may turn out that I'm jumping to conclusions, but it's suspicious enough to merit investigation, and it's the only lead we have."
Fable sighs softly looking at the ground and says, "so they're at the chapel. It only makes sense for whatever reason why Lord Reiss wanted to rebuild the chapel immediately following it being destroyed is the same reason why he wants Eren and Historia."
She looks at everyone else as Hange says, "exactly Fable."
Fable nods then leans back against Levi. She brings feet up onto the bench bringing her knees to her chest.
"Before the night is over, Truss's land will be crawling with our soldiers," Hange says, "unfortunately, we can't expect him to wait that long. We have to get there as soon as possible. Before Eren ends up in someone's stomach."
                 Couple hours passed of them traveling. Levi watches the world go by still feeling Fable against his shoulder.
                   "How can she sleep at a time like this?" Mikasa asks looking at Fable sleeping against Levi.
                  Levi's eyes went to Mikasa and then to Fable. "She's fine," he says gently looking back at the girl, "if she's bothering you so much don't look at her."
                  He then looks at Fable and takes her cloak draping it around her.
                    "Hange I ruined her," he says still looking at the girl.
                    Hange looks at him confused and questions, "why do you say that?"
                    "Because right she'd be obsessing over the stars instead of asleep," he says glancing at the ground.
                    "Well to be fair you guys did start dating couple weeks before all this happened. She just has built up trauma from the past few weeks," Hange says softly to him, "you didn't ruin her Levi. If anything she melted into you the same way you melted into her."
                       Levi looks at Hange confused.
                      "I see you reading that book she has started and I know she didn't make you either," Hange says smiling, "it's cute, but seriously I better be invited to the wedding."
                       He glances at them and says, "what makes you say we're getting married?"
                      "One I've seen you glancing at rings," Hange states looking at him, "two you'd be stupid if you didn't."
                    He feels Fable move against his arm. He looks down at her noticing she was starting.
                   "Are we there yet?" she mumbles softly opening her eyes.
                   "Almost," Fable hears Levi say.
                   She nods standing up on the moving wagon.
                 "Fable what the fuck are you doing?" Levi asks putting his arm out keeping her from falling out of the wagon.
                 Fable walks to the other side and sits on her knees saying, "I wasn't going to fall off Levi."
                  She sits and looks up at the stars. She sighs leaning on arm. Fable stays awake watching the sky. Levi stays watching the girl thanking about what Hange said...all of it. He did want to marry with girl and be with her forever but it's the matter of when.
