Fable finishes feeding the horses and she hears footsteps entering the stables. She looks up to see Levi standing in the doorway. She rolls her eyes and looks away from him. "Fable," he says softly looking at her. Fable ignores her and continues to pet one of the horses. "Fable I know you heard me," he says walking closer to her. "Oh I thought you were going to talk for me," she says looking at him, "tell me was what you said because you're my squad leader, or is it because you're my boyfriend." Levi sighs looking at her and says, "Maybe it was both." "Maybe it was both?" she laughs softly before continuing, "Once Hange gives me the all-clear to go I'm going. I'm making that decision not you." "Fable you're not being logical," he says, "you and I both know you're not in the right headspace for going out there." "Why because you're not going to be out there to rescue me when I need it?" Fable asks looking at him, "I don't need you to play the knight in shining armor for me Levi. I didn't back then and I don't know." Levi sighs looking at her rubbing the back of his neck. "Why can't you trust me out there by myself?" she asks looking at him. Levi looks to the side and then feels her walk by him. He sighs rubbing the back of his neck. He trails behind her heading inside. He opens the door to see Hange standing on the other side. "Oh that went well," Hange says looking at him, "you love her don't you." "Tch how would you know?" he asks walking to his office. "Because I know you," Hange says walking with him, "you care for her and I understand your side of it, Levi. It's a simple mission and the odds of her getting hurt are pretty slim." "Not you too." "Listen all Im saying she joined the scouts for a reason and getting benched by her boyfriend for every mission was not one of them." Levi sighs rubbing the back of his neck and says, "How bad were her injuries again?" "Honestly the best broken ribs I've seen she's probably pretty much all held...unless you guys...," Hange says watching him open the door to his office. "If you see Fable tell her I want to see her in my office." Hange nods and went to go find Fable who is in her room doing some light cleaning. She changes the sheets on her bed. She's sweeping the floor when she hears a knock. She sighs setting the broom against her dresser. "If it's Levi I don't want to talk to you," she says. "Well it's not Levi it's Hange," she hears the titan lover say on the other side, "but Levi wants to see you in his office." "But I don't want to see him," Fable says opening the door. "That's a lie come on I'll walk with you," Hange says taking her hand and pulling the door shut, "you can't stay mad at him forever. One it's not you to be mad at someone for this long and two...well there's not to but." Fable walks or well gets pulled by Hange to Levi's office. They knock on the door once the two of them get there. "Who is it?" Fable hears Levi ask from inside. "It's Hange...I got a present for you," they say opening the door and shoving Fable inside, "now make up." Fable watches Hange shut the door and looks over at Levi who was looking up from his paperwork. The girl sighs and takes her jacket off before sitting down on the couch. "Fable," she hears him say. She looks down at the palm of her hands and says, "I want to help Levi." "I know darling," he says softly, "come here." Fable sighs and gets up walking over to him. Levi rolls his seat back so she can sit on his lap. She crawls up onto his lap. "It's not that I don't trust you," he says softly, "it's that I love you too much to lose you and that scares me." Fable cups his face in her hands and says, "Well you wanna know some reassurance. I was trained by the best Captain the scout has ever had." Levi kisses her softly with a smile and says, "You want to help do you." "Please." Levi chuckles and starts doing his paperwork. He notices her arms wrap around his waist then immediately stiffens hearing a knock on the door. "Who is it?" he asks as Fable climbs off his lap. "Erwin," the voice on the other side of the door says. Fable immediately drops to the ground and crawls underneath his desk as he tells Erwin he can come in. She hears the door open and looks up at Levi. "Erwin," Levi says taking a sip of his tea. "Levi," Erwin says noticing Fable's jacket on a chair, "I see you talked to Fable." "Yeah I talked to her and Hange," he says leaning back in his chair," Hange said she'll check her over before you guys leave, and if she's okay with Fable then I'm just going to have to let her go." "I would like her to go yes. She is one of the most well-trained scouts we have," Erwin says looking at the jacket as well, "and forgetful as well I see." "Yeah she'll be back for it once she notices it's missing," he says finishing up his list of recruits to be put on his squad, "here's the list of scouts I want to recruit for my squad, obviously it's not an official list I have to see if they're up to my standards." Erwin takes the list from Levi. "What is Fable and Eren not enough for you?" he jokes a bit. Levi looks up at the commander and says, "Very funny." "Well I'll let you be with your paperwork," he says walking over to the door. Erwin leaves the room and says, "Okay brat he's gone." Fable crawls out from underneath the desk and crawls back into his lap. "That was scary," she says softly. "You know it would be a lot easier if we would just tell everyone," Levi says looking at her. "Levi," she says softly "I know but no one will care," he says tucking pieces of hair behind her. "Yeah they will people are already talking," she says. Levi furrows his eyebrows and asks, "What are they saying?" Fable sighs softly getting off his lap and saying, "It's not a big deal it's mostly stuff about me." Levi grabs her arm and says, "Fable what are they saying? If you won't tell me I'll find a way that they'll tell me." "I...Levi, it's fine," she says looking at him. "If it's fine then why don't we just tell them," he says pulling her back onto his lap. "I want to just as much as you do Levi but we can't," she says bearing her face into his next, "it'll just make everything worse than what it is." Levi sighs softly pulling her closer to him. "Okay," he says planting a kiss on her head. He continues working on some paperwork. In silence, he works as the girl clings to him. "They said that the only reason why I'm on your squad is because we're 'fucking' because I'm not good enough to be on it skill-wise," she says softly against his ear. Levi stiffens a little listening to her and says, "Anything else?" "Not really that's it," she says shrugging, "just different versions." He looks at her and says, "Do you think that?" Fable stays quiet looking away from him. "I don't know," she mumbles "Darling don't listen to them, Erwin himself said you're one the best," Levi tells her, "and besides we haven't had sex yet." The last part he whispers against her ear before kissing her cheek. Fable feels her face heat up to Levi's words and immediately hides her face in his chest. He chuckles at her a little bit. "Levi did you train me because you wanted or because you had to?" she asks looking at him. Levi just smiles and says," Even if I wanted to it wouldn't deter you from being in the squad. You need to stop listening to everyone else's opinions." She sighs getting off of his lap. "I love you," she says softly. "I love you," Levi says kissing her hand gently, "can you go watch Eren for me?" "Yeah is it going to be another late night," Fable says looking at him. "I should finish by dinner," he says watching her grab her jacket, "thank you." Fable just smiles at him leaving his office noticing a few scouts down the hallway. She sighs walking to find Eren.
