The two of them land on a rooftop to see Levi, Eren, and Armin burnt to a crisp. "Oh yeah he's still breathing," Eren says leaning over Armin, " I hear him! Keep going! Don't give up! You can make it." Fable looks down at Levi covered in blood and walks over to him. "Captain! Get the syringe!" Eren calls to him, "turn Armin into a Titan, and then we can have him eat Bertholdt! Hurry up and inject him!" "Right," she hears Levi say holding the case with the syringe. Mikasa quickly fires smoke signal. Fable watches as Levi hands over the syringe to Eren. Then a recruit climbs onto the roof with Erwin on his back. "Oh my god," she says softly "Levi...Captain, I finally found you," the recruit manages to say, "it's the commander. He's hurt. His stomach is gouged, and his insides are all torn to shreds. The blood just won't stop. I thought that injection might be able to help him, but what do you think?" Fable looks at Armin then at the commander. Her eyes land on Levi in front of her. She watches as Levi takes the syringe back as she helps the recruit on the roof. Levi covers over kneeling beside her. He holds his hand over Erwin's mouth and says, "it's faint, but he's breathing. Erwin you're alive." Levi stands up and says, "you know what has to happen. Erwin gets the shot." "You can't. You told me you'd use it on Armin," Eren says standing up looking at the captain. "I'm going to revive the person who can save humanity," Levi says looking at him. She watches as Mikasa pulls out a blade causing her to quickly put a hand onto her's. "You two. Do you have even the faintest damn clue what you're doing?" Levi says looking at them, "it's Erwin, the commander of the scouts, and you're telling me to watch him die? There's no time for this. Just get out of my way." Eren grabs the syringe trying to take it from Levi. "Eren. Check your emotions," he tells the boy. "Sorry, Captain. Cant do that," Eren responds to him, "tell me. Why didn't you give Armin the injection right away?" "I was thinking about Erwin. Considering the chance that he might be alive." "But you couldn't have known that Flock would carry the commander here. There's no way you couldn't have seen that coming." "You aren't wrong, Eren. But the fact remains, he's here now. So I'll revive him." Fable watches as Levi punches Eren away from him and Mikasa quickly shoves Levi to the ground holding her blade close to his throat. She watches the situation and quickly runs over Levi. She went to grab the syringe from him when he says, "you know just as well as I do. Without Erwin's leadership humanity can't beat the Titans." "He's right Mikasa," Floch says to her. "No it's the same with Armin. He's just as important," Eren says sitting up, "think about what he's done. We used his plan to take back Trost with the boulder. He's the one who realized what Annie was. It was his idea to avoid the Titans by coming here at night! He's the only reason we uncovered Reiner's hiding spot, and the only reason we defeated Bertholdt! We only got this far because of Armin! I can't save humanity neither can the commander, but Armin can! Fable sighs looking at Levi and says, "Levi." "Please, Captain. Just let go," Mikasa says looking him. "You're just being selfish," Floch says looking at Mikasa, "Erwin's our leader." "No. Shut up!" she responds. "What? And why the hell should I? Do you think you're the only ones you suffered through all this. Not that you asked, but on the other side of the wall, there's not a single soldier left alive. The Beast Titan threw crushed boulders at everyone. That field is soaked with the blood of my comrades. Commander Erwin was the only survivor I could find. He came up with a plan. Found a way for us to strike back at the Beast Titan, and so we did. My comrades were smashed to bits just as he'd planned. I'm sure the last thing they felt was fear, all-consuming fear. When I realized the commander was still alive, I almost finished him of myself. But then I recognized that would be a mercy. And I thought to myself that he ought to taste more of this hell. Suddenly, I understood if we wanna stand any chance against the Titans, we need a devil!" Fable continues listening Floch as she looks down at Levi. Her gaze went back to Armin and the Erwin. She then watches as Mikasa lunges for Floch and was immediately stopped by Hange. Fable looks away from Levi as he pulls out the syringe and gets it ready. She listens to Mikasa's cries causing tears to fill her eyes. She looks at Hange as they spoke to the girl. She leans then hangs her head letting her tears hit the rooftop. She watches as Eren reaches for Levi's leg and starts talking about the sea. "Everyone get out of here!" Levi calls out to them causing Fable to stand up, "I don't want Erwin eating one of you guys and not Bertholdt!" She looks at Levi before heads over to a further rooftop with Hange. She sits on rooftop until Levi came to join them with Erwin. Fable watches him lays the body in front of them. Levi sits next to her. She lays her head onto his shoulder and listens to him talk to Floch about the commander. Fable lifts her head off of his shoulder as he speaks to the commander, "Erwin. I told you I would kill the Beast Titan, but that'll have to wait." Hange looks into his eyes and says, "he's already dead." Fable looks Levi and frowns. She just places a kiss against his cheek before looking back at Erwin's body. She then feels Levi's arm around her waist and he buries his face into her neck. She wraps her arms around his neck. "Thank god I didn't lose you too," he says against her ear. The group of survivors make their way to on top of the wall to rest up and wait until Armin and Sasha wake up.
