Chapter 9

Fable wakes up with the sun shining in her eyes. She looks over at Levi who was sleeping on his stomach. She smiles softly knowing that he exactly slept. She brushes a few pieces of hair out of his before kissing his forehead. Levi shifts and opens his eyes slowly.
"Good morning," he says in his morning voice.
"Morning sleepy head," she says softly placing a kiss on his bare shoulder.
Levi groans at the touch of her lips and says, "Bold this morning now aren't we darling."
Fable giggles softly and says against his ear, "You're hurt."
He looks up at the girl and says, "You need to stop using my words against me."
"And what are you going to do about it?" she asks looking at him.
Levi looks at the girl and smirks. "Extra cleaning I presume," he says watching her.
Fable furrows her eyebrows at him and says, "You're no fun."
The man chuckles and pulls her closer to him. "I'm your captain," he says softly into her ear, "that means you obey my orders or."
"Or," she says watching his face.
"or you get extra cleaning," he says, "but in your case, I might need to find another form of punishment."
Fable feels him kiss her neck softly. Her lips part letting out a soft moan when he finds her sweet spot. Levi smirks against her skin and bites at that spot before making his way back to her ear.
             "We should probably get up," he says softly into her ear.
Fable wraps her arms around Levi's neck and says, "But I don't wanna. I want to stay here."
Levi furrows his eyebrows and says, "Fable."
She rolls her eyes and lets go of him. "Have you ever heard of the word fun," she asks frowning.
"Brat," he says sitting up.
Fable giggles softly before sitting up as well. She wraps her arms around Levi's waist from behind. She laid her head on his bare back. She smiles softly as she feels him rubbing her arms. She closes her eyes feeling him breathe. The two stay like this for a while before Fable lifts her head off his back and looks at his face. The girl kisses him on the cheek and then the lips. She climbs out of Levi's bed before giving him another kiss, this one was longer than the others this morning. Fable always savors the last moments they share in the mornings whether it's a kiss or just each other's company. Levi plants a kiss on her hand before she walks out of his room. Levi looks over at his dresser noticing she had left the ribbon that was in her hair last night. He sighs gets up and stuffs the ribbon in the top drawer of his dresser before he proceeds to get ready for the morning.
Fable finds her way back to her room. She walks in and immediately starts getting ready. She puts her uniform on for the day. She sighs brushing her blonde hair that comes about to her shoulder blades. She throws her boots on before leaving her room. She notices Levi leaving his room as well. He has on everything but his jacket. She notices him still limping slightly. She quickly catches up to him.
"You're still limping," she whispers to him.
Levi looks at her and says, "And you left your hair ribbon in my room again."
Fable cringes slightly before putting her hand into his. She smiles feeling him rub his thumb against the back of her hand. The two stop at the door to the library. Fable looks at the handle of the door.
"We can go in if you want," she hears Levi say softly, "we got time."
Fable smiles softly and says, "I'm good."
She lets go of Levi's hand and walks in front of him. Fable runs her fingers through her hair as she opens the door to the meeting room to see Eren.
"Hey there titan," she says sitting in a chair.
"Hey," he says smiling softly.
Levi walks past them to make himself a cup of tea before the meeting. Fable and Eren sit in silence. One stare at the floor the other starts playing with her hair. Fable hears Levi walk by her and sit at the end of the table. Eren turns his attention to Levi.
"Lively group this morning now are we," Levi says taking a sip of his tea.
Fable looks at Levi and then at Eren who was sitting in Gunther's old seat. She sighs as she watches Levi shift in his seat. She notices him rubbing his thigh.
"I'm sorry Captain Levi if I would've just..." Eren says catching Fable's attention.
She opens her mouth to say something but Levi starts instead. "Eren don't be so hard on yourself you did what you thought was right," he says taking another sip of his tea, "and people got hurt in the process that's what happens. People will get hurt and die all the time, it's you're job to know how to handle it."
Fable sighs listening to him as a knock on the door echoes through the room. Hange and Erwin appear with a few of the recruits.
"We have a plan on how to get the female titan," Hange says wide-eyed.
Erwin takes a sit at the head of the table and the other file in.
"Alright let's hear it," Levi says leaning back in his chair.
Erwin unrolls a map of the Stohess district and begins to explain the plan to the group.
"What how do you know it's Annie?" Eren asks looking at everyone in the room.
"Well that was all Armin he figured it out all on his own," Hange says motioning to the blonde boy.
Armin begins explaining how he figured it all out. As he did Fable feels Levi's hand on her thigh. She looks over at him. She was met with his gaze. He looks her up and down before turning his attention back to Armin. Fable grabs Levi's hand from under the table. Levi lets go of her hand as the kid finishes.
"So we're going off based on a couple of minor things," Eren says looking at him.
"So we're going in blind," Levi speaks
"Yes," Erwin says looking at everyone, "so everyone should be ready. Fable are you healed in enough to fight."
"Yeah," she states nodding
"No" the no came from Levi.
Fable looks over at Levi with a confused look on her face.
"Hange said she needs to rest and I'm her squad leader, so I'll be the judge if she's ready or not," he says looking at everyone.
"Well actually this whole mission isn't gonna happen for a couple of days so I can check her over before we head to," Hange says looking at everyone, "we'll just have two plans one that includes her and one that doesn't."
Fable looks away from Levi and says, "Am I good to leave I gotta go feed the horses?"
"Uh yeah we're good thanks Fable," Hange says
The girl immediately gets up from her seat and walks out of the room slamming the door in the process. Levi takes a sip of his tea and sighs. He watches as everyone leaves the room but Hange and Eren. Hange was giving him a look while Eren was just sitting there.
"Eren you can do some cleaning today unless Hange wants to run some tests," Levi says drinking the last of his tea.
"Nope he's all good for cleaning," Hange replies.
The two watch him leave the room and Hange still stares at Levi.
"What?" Levi asks standing up for his seat and then massaging his thigh.
"You know what I haven't seen Fable this mad in...you know I don't think I haven't," Hange says looking at him, "and it's your fault."
"I'll talk to her don't worry."
"If she even wants to talk to you after the stunt you just pulled. You and I both know that Fable is a strong girl who's capable enough to make her own decisions."
"She's not in the right mindset right now Hange. All of her friends died by that bitch you guys are going after."
