I finally got to work right before opening. It took me an ungodly amount of time to get ready today for some reason.

Then Nick and I spent way too much time arguing about where the car keys were.

I debated on not coming in at all but that would be taking it way too far. I can't just lock myself away forever.

Plus, the nights Easton isn't here, I'm here basically managing the bar.

If I wasn't here the whole bar would be a mess and I could not do that to my brother no matter how upset I was at him.

Luckily my brother has a few trusted employees who know what they're doing so they helped set up before opening while I was gone.

The night has been pretty slow so far.

It's only the alcoholics who come in, in the middle of the week which there are way more than there should be.

Nick used to be one of them but he started to get too crazy so Easton has to limit him to drinking in the bar when there are no customers.

It was around midnight when I decided to close for the night.

The last customer left about an hour ago so I doubt anyone else is coming in for the night.

I cleaned all the glasses and wiped the entire bar down.

I wiped all the tables and picked up all the chairs, flipping them upside down.

Easton hires a cleaning lady to come in every morning to clean the floors so he always requests I put the chairs up to "make it easier on her."

I counted all the money for the night and took it to Easton's office where he keeps everything.

Then headed downstairs to let everyone know they could go home for the night.

Once everyone was gone, I grabbed my bag and headed out the back door.

I started walking down the alleyway when I suddenly could feel someone's presence around me.

"Hello, Seth." I turned around and found Dahlia standing there along with two men.

"If it isn't the bitch and her little minions. How's it going?" She seemed to not like my response because suddenly my whole head was on fire.

I dropped down to my knees and started screaming in pain. I couldn't move and it felt like I couldn't even breathe.

How is this even possible?

How is a mediocre witch more powerful than me? My mother was the most powerful to ever exist for Christ's sake.

Unless she is the woman who taught my mother everything she knew.

Suddenly I heard the snap of necks and Dahlia's spell stopped.

"What are you doing Grey?" I hear Dahlia yell. I look up to see Grey standing above the two men's dead bodies.

He doesn't respond to her, instead, he rushes over to my side before picking me up bridal style and rushing away.

Did I ever mention how fast vampires can move? I seem to forget myself.

We stopped in an alleyway that was far from Easton's bar.

Grey set me on the ground, allowing me to catch my breath.

"Are you okay?" His concerned look melted me a little.

"Yeah, Im fine." I rub my head gently because now I have a headache. Then I realized what Grey just did.
