Grey
It's been exactly four days since Easton and Leila announced that they are having a baby.

I'm just as happy as everyone else is. I'm as happy as I would be if it were my own family. I wish the happiness that is radiating from this house was also radiating off of me but it isn't.

All I can think about is what will happen if something happens to me and I leave Seth.

What will happen if I am not here to protect her? To be here for her. To love her.

Every time I hold her in my arms. Every time I kiss her lips. All I think about is what if something happens to her and I'm not here.

I decided that I needed to go back to something consistent, something that I've always had in my life. Maybe not something, maybe someone.

Maybe seeing that someone will help me to calm my paranoia or to get me out of my head for a few minutes.

That someone is my best friend.

Nicolas and I met when I was in school back in Virginia. We went to high school and almost went to college together.

He is a way older vampire than I am so he taught me a lot when I didn't know much. I never learned about his secret until I became my own secret.

"How long will you be gone?" Seth asked laying on her side watching me button up my suit. Her eyes peered up at me in a way that made me want to take her clothes off and not leave at all.

I want Seth to meet my best friend but I think with everything going on, Nico would stress her out because that's just what he does. He can be extremely overwhelming to some.

"In a couple of hours, I promise." I kissed her forehead before grabbing my car keys.

After we moved in, I had to go back to Seth's old house to get my car and I haven't driven it since so I was happy this trip gave me a chance to do that.

My car is my baby, I feel like I've been neglecting my child. That's probably a guy thing but I have always found the evolution of cars to be fascinating.

I have always had to have my cars with extra features and all the cool add-ons. That is the one thing Nico and I have in common. We both love cars.

Other than that, Nico and I are the complete opposite. Sometimes I wonder how we are best friends.

"Will you bring me home a chocolate milkshake?" She said almost jokingly as if I wouldn't do it for her. Little does she know, I would do anything for her.

"Of course love." I smiled at her before exiting the room completely. I walked out of the house and immediately to my car.

Nico and I decided to meet at a bar closer to the new house. I assured him I would tell him why I wanted to drive 45 minutes away from town to meet.

The drive was nice, I enjoyed this part of Saranac way more than the city part. I never liked loud places crowded with people all the time.

I have always been a quiet person and I have always enjoyed my environment matching that.

I walked into the countryside bar that looked almost like a wooden cabin.

I saw someone sitting at the bar facing away from me and I immediately knew it was Nico. His pitch-black hair was hard to mistake.

I walked up to him and sat next to him, waving my hand up so the bartender would see me and make her way over to me.

"Bourbon please," I said when she approached us.
