I woke up and my eyes were blinded by the sunshine coming into my room. That's what happens when you fall asleep without shutting your blinds.
Not to self, close the blinds before bed.
I rolled out of Grey's arms and went over to shut them. It is too damn early to have the sun shining in my face like this.
I need some caffeine before having the sun in my face.
I left Grey to sleep and made my way downstairs to make some coffee. I felt too tired to go to Sophie's today so I thought I would make Grey and I coffee here.
When I got downstairs, Easton was sitting at the dining room table drinking his morning cup of coffee while scrolling on his computer.
"Good morning," I said while grabbing a cup from the cabinets.
"Morning." Easton didn't even bother to look up at me his face just stayed glued to his laptop screen.
"What are you doing on this fine Tuesday morning?" I said pouring straight black coffee into my large giant black mug.
"Closing the deal on our new house."
I almost dropped the coffee cup but instead wrapped another hand around it.
"You're selling our house?" I walked over to the kitchen table and leaned against one of the chairs.
"We aren't safe here, we need somewhere Dahlia won't find us."
"I like this house, I don't want to move." I snapped at him a little on accident but this was too much for this early in the morning.
If Easton truly felt that this house wasn't safe for us anymore, he should have spoken to all of us about it instead of making this crazy decision on his own.
"I'm not selling this house I'm simply buying another one for the time being. It's not far from here. It's in the countryside, it's smaller but it will work for now."
Easton was clicking away on his computer while I just sat there watching him.
"How many days do I have?" I asked taking another sip of coffee. Although I'm pissed he didn't speak to Nick and me about this, he has already made his decision so I'm just going to accept it for now.
"None were leaving in a couple of hours. You don't need to pack everything just a few things that will get you by." He has to be joking. I have a couple of hours to move to a whole different house.
I let out a sigh, every part of me wants to say something but I feel there is no point so I stay quiet.
I wasn't going to argue, as long as we have a house to come back to, I think it's a smart idea.
It is the sudden change that is scaring me a little.
"I need to go tell Grey so he has time to pack some things." It was the first Easton looked up from the computer.
"Grey isn't coming." His voice was stern.
"What?" I stopped walking and turned around to look at him.
"Grey isn't coming with us." He repeated. I don't like arguing with Easton and I often don't because it's easier that way but in this moment in time, I don't give a shit how hard arguing with him will be.
I'm not leaving this house without Grey coming with me and Easton is about to learn that.
"Then I'm not going." Easton's eyes widened at my statement.
"What do you mean you aren't going?" Easton closed the laptop gently and pushed it out of the way.
"Easton, if Grey isn't coming I'm not going. Period." The hidden protectiveness I have for Grey is starting to show and I don't know how to feel about it.
