Seth

The past couple of weeks have been full of chaos and craziness.

My days have been spent with Easton, Nick, and Grey figuring out what we're going to do about Dahlia.

Leila would help but Easton won't let her since she is pregnant.

"She needs to rest and not worry." Those were his exact words when I asked why he wasn't letting her help.

As Leila's best friend, I want her to enjoy her pregnancy and not worry about all the crazy shit going on around us so I agree with Easton.

Shockingly.

We have been trying to find out as much information about Dahlia as possible so we can find the easiest ways to take her down.

No way we take her down will be easy but to cut some corners would be nice.

All we know about her is that she is our mother's sister, she taught our mother magic and she is an evil bitch who wants to kill her niece and nephews.

Grey and I have been spending the day in the library back at my house.

It is the only place we can go for the information that we need so we have all been taking trips to the old house.

Easton and Nick are spending the day at the bar checking up on any work that hasn't been done since we moved to the country house so it's just Grey and I today.

"What are these boxes?" Grey said while I was taking a break from reading looking up nursery ideas on the sofa.

"What boxes?"

"These ones on top of the book selves." I got up from where I was seated and walked to the bookshelf on the far left of the library.

"I don't know, Easton must have put them up there when we moved in." I grabbed one of the rolling stepping stools we had to reach books so I could climb up there and get them.

Grey gripped tightly on my waist while I reached up and pulled the first box down.

I handed the first box to Grey and reached up to grab the second one.

I took the second box and placed it on top of the old piano we had in the library.

I carefully pried open the box while Grey searched the other.

Inside the boxes were books that looked like Jesus could have written them. There was a thick layer of dust on each book as I pulled them out.

On the books read "Elizebeth Heather Jackson."

I flipped open the first pages and realized all the pages were started with the date on which the pages were written.

"These are my mother's diaries."

"The dates go back to the year 991."

"That was the year my mother's parents died meaning that was the year she got her magic."

"Wait Grey, what if there is stuff in here about Dahlia and maybe what she wants?"

"Well, we better get to reading then." I grabbed the first book while Grey grabbed the second and we both sat on the couch to get to reading.

We were only thirty minutes into reading when Grey let out a long sigh.

"Any luck finding anything?" I asked looking up from the book. My head ached from reading and all I wanted was food but I needed to finish this book. Not just to find information but learning these things about my mother makes me feel like she is still here.
