After our moment at the bar, we all decided we would meet back at the country house to decide what we would do with the information we now know.
I am currently sitting in the passenger seat of the car while Grey drives. It's become almost instinct to have Grey drive. His hand rests in mine, his thumb slowly caressing my hand.
"Thank you for telling Nick for me," I said breaking our silence.
"Yeah of course love." He brings my hand up to his mouth and gently kisses the back of my hand.
"You okay?" Grey asks once he brings my hand back down. I let out a long sigh and conjured up an accurate response.
"Yeah just overwhelmed. Learning all of this new information has my head spinning a little."
"I can only imagine."
"It also doesn't help that I have no idea what we are going to do." Grey squeezes my hand gently. I lean my head back so my head rests against the seat.
Grey turns his head so that our eyes meet, "We will figure it out, don't worry." I'm grateful for his words because they calm me in a way that nothing else could.
We pulled up to the long driveway of the country house, I instantly noticed the jeep is in the driveway signaling that Easton and Nick are home.
Grey pulled into the driveway next to the Jeep and we both got out.
"I hope Easton told Leila everything already," I said as I opened the front door. As soon as I opened the door all the way I could see Leila sitting on the couch crying.
These pregnancy hormones I am witnessing are making me so grateful, I am in a situation where I am unable to reproduce.
"I am pretty sure he told her," Grey said from behind me.
"I am so sorry Nick you didn't deserve that." Leila cried hugging Nick tightly.
"Pregnancy hormones must be a pain in the ass huh?" Nick said rubbing his hand up and down Leila's back. Nick's eyes meet mine and he gives me a "help me" look which makes me laugh a little.
"it's okay Lei." Nick followed up his last sentence with.
After fifteen minutes of watching Leila cry her eyeballs out, Easton, Grey, Nick and I met in the family room on the other side of the house to talk.
"Based on what I read about the ritual, we have until the next full moon until Dahlia can complete the spell," Grey said standing next to me with his arms crossed.
"Which means we have a whole month," I added.
"Seth your job is to find a spell that can drain some of Dahlia's powers long enough for us to take her down. Nick and I are going to try to find as much information on Dahlia's life and this stupid ritual," Easton said.
"Okay got it." Nick and Easton left the room leaving me and Grey alone.
"I'm going to go shower." Grey leaned down and pressed his lips to mine.
"I'll be in there in a few minutes." I was currently translating a bunch of Latin my mother left in her grimoires that didn't look familiar.
If anyone is going to know a spell to stop Dahlia it will be the person she was most close with. My mother.
Grey nodded and left the room.
After a few minutes, I heard footsteps and two heartbeats coming closer to the room so I instantly knew it was Leila. It's kind of weird being able to hear the baby's heartbeat without any human machinery.
