Yona's POV

I stood in front of the mirror admiring Miss Jessica's clothing choice for me. I was fixing the headpiece when I felt something was missing. I looked around the room trying to find the missing piece, when my eyes landed on my present from Miss Jessica.

Although I hadn't opened it yet, it called out to me. 'It seems as though it will help you in the future,' back then she was so happy to see me accept the present, I forgot to open it. 'Why not now?' I thought.

I take the package gently, and make my way to opening the packaging. As it turns out, it was a beautiful overcoat to go over my dress with a light purple, almost lavender, background and pretty pink flowers adorning the fabric. I quickly tried it on, eager to see if I could wear it, and happily smile when I see how the material makes my hair and dress pop.

I exit my room, finally satisfied with my attire, and make my way to the courtyard. Once I'm there, I run into Soo-won and he compliments me, "Yona-hime, what a beautiful coat."

I quickly blush and answer, "Thank you. A priestess stopped by and gave it to me earlier."

His face seems to light up around the end of my sentence as he reaches for something, "That reminds me, Yona-hime, I got you this." He offers me a beautiful hairpin.

I almost feel too bad for the beautiful accessory, "Thank you, but with this unruly hair, I don't think I can do it justice."

"Eh? But I love your hair, Yona-hime," he says as he runs a strand of hair through his hand. 'O-oh, really?' I thought, 'I may have a reason to like my hair now.'

And then, Hak butted in.

The day was, all-in-all, a good time. Everyone was smiling and having fun. The only sad aspect of the day was when my father denied my love for Soo-won. Because of that, I've come to my father's room to convince him otherwise.

As I enter, I see a shadow of a figure stabbing another. when the stabbed figure falls to the ground, I gasp in fear and horror. My father lay before me, stabbed to death. Then, the murderer steps forward, and my horror grows.

I run quickly through the castle trying to find an escape. 'Not only did Soo-won kill father, but now he's after me too!'

Soon, I'm surrounded with nowhere to go. Won't anyone help me?

Just as the thought entered my mind, Hak saves me, "Hak?" He glanced over at me, eyes widening when he sees my tears, "Are you on my side?" At this he hugs me, but soon gets up to confront Soo-Won.

"I was wondering why it was so quiet. Not to mention that all the guards that were supposed to be on duty are all gathered here. So, Soo-Won, what happened to King Il?" Hak finished with a menacing tone.

"King Il? I just sent him to hell," Soo-Won said nonchalantly, as if he did not just commit murder.

That statement provoked Hak, and he and Soo-Won fought until a guard held his sword to my neck, holding me hostage. Seeing this, a stranger stopped the quarrel and pointed out my predicament.

Hak was then forced to release his weapon, but he regained it when an arrow was shot. With that distraction, we were able to escape into hiding and caught up with Min-Soo. He asked me if what happened to father was true, and, since I was traumatized, I only slightly nodded.

We were soon near the gates, but they were being guarded. Then, Min-Soo pulls out Miss Jessica's present. He then told us to go while he distracted the guards. His plan did work, and we were soon out of the castle, but what had it cost us?

As we stopped to rest, I realized what Miss Jessica predicted was true, the coat did save me.
