Jessica's POV
After Yoon and Jae-ha got back from scouting the border, we set off towards the Kai Empire.
We ended up coming up to a rickety and rotting wooden bridge. We stood sweat dropping at the disheveled look of the bridge, "Are we completely sure this is safe?"
Hak turned to me and muttered, "Since when do we do completely safe things?"
I blinked before grumbling, "Touché."
"Watch your step," Jae-ha said. He smirked before continuing, "If it was Yona, Yoon, or Jessie, I–" A high pitched scream left Kija's mouth as he fell through one of the overly rotten planks. Jae-ha caught him just in time, but we all watched the two carefully. Annoyance was clear in Jae-ha's face as he said, "As I was saying, if Yona, Yoon, or Jessie fell through, I'd save them."
I stood on the flat ground right before the bridge and said dramatically, "I am so honored and humbled to be apart of the group you'd save, Jae-ha!"
"Weirdo," the elder male muttered before helping Kija back onto land.
Yoon sighed, "What a pain! I knew this would happen, so I brought this along," he held up a rather new, sturdy looking board. "We can pass it around as need be."
"Sugoi, Yoon!" Yona praised. "You really think of everything!"
I smiled as I walked behind the group with Zeno, who insisted I be in front of him, "Kawaii."
"Mm?" Zeno said softly. He placed a hand in mine, "Are you okay, Jess-chan?"
Silent tears formed within my eyes as we walked further over the bridge, "I've gotten too attached." Zeno flinched, "How am I going to deal with losing my family all over again?"
A warm hand slipped into mine and Zeno gave me a soft smile, "It'll be okay, Jess-chan. I'll be here."
I nodded before pulling Zeno a little faster over the bridge, "Thanks, I needed that."

We spent days and nights in the wilderness of the mountains and now we were eating around the campfire. Zeno and I sat next to each other, he didn't really leave me alone after my slight episode on the bridge.
Currently we were talking about the government in the Kai empire, "It's really similar to Kouka's government."
Zeno casually added his two-sense, "The emperor's cousin rules the land in the south. It's kinda like Kouka because of the rise in power of the nobility and the decline of the King like–" Kija and I quickly covered my blonde friend's mouth.
"You may want to keep quiet now, Zeno," he glanced at the both of us with a clueless façade.
"Any danger?" Kija asked his dragon hand on top of mine which was covering Zeno's mouth.
"Not really," said Yoon, "I wanted to go to a small, rural town if we stay quiet." There was a pause before the pretty boy made eye contact with each of us, "If we stay quiet. If we stay quiet."
There was a sweat drop sliding down my head as Kija pointed out the obvious, "He said it three times."
"That's because it's important," Jae-ha said.

Yoon and I had just finished sewing a long white cloth, "You think it's ready?"
I sighed before taking my hair and pulling the pin that held it back out, "I think it'll be fine. Everyone should fit."
Yoon looked at me, then did a double take, "I've never seen you with your hair down."
"Eh?" I said running a hand through my violet locks. "I guess I just am always doing something that it would get in my way," I took a rubber band, pulled my hair to my right side, and tied my hair into a low ponytail which made the hair around my face kinda 'puff' out.
