Jessica's POV

I sighed and looked at my now bruising wrist. It wasn't going to be normal for a while.

I stopped in to the post master's place and sent off a notification to the shrine. Unfortunately, they might have to put up defenses soon.

I also sent the others a letter, I'd need Jae-ha's help if I wanted to be there in a good amount of time.

~~~~~~
"Hello, Jessie-dear," Jae-ha greeted as he landed in front of me.
"Hello, Jae-ha," he picked me up and jumped off. "How are things with the others?"
"Well. . ."
A thought struck me, "Did I send word at a bad time?"
"There could have been a worse time," Jae-ha said picking me up. As he took off, he explained, "Li Hazara has broken through the border and seems to be working with Kan Soo-Jin to overthrow his majesty Soo-won."
Although Soo-won and I were not on good speaking terms, I knew which side we were taking, "So? What's our fearless leader's plan?"
"We're going to help."
I sighed, "I assumed so."
"Can you ride a horse?"
I nodded, "Yes. I've even been on one through a war with the shrine, so I should be okay."
"Got it," we landed back in the group as they were about to mount horses.
"Long time no see," I said smiling at the group.
"Jessie-" Yona began, unaware of how to tell me what's going on.
I smiled before taking the reigns of a horse from Hak, "Jae-ha already explained. Oh, and I won't need to leave to talk with the king for a long while I hope, I kinda pissed him off," I swung myself up onto the saddle.
"You can ride a horse, Jessie?" Yoon asked surprised by my smooth ascension onto the horse.
"Ah," I said smiling down at him before pulling the hood of my cape up, "I sometimes ride with the soldiers of the shrine."
"Ah, can I ride with you?"
"Ah," I helped him up allowing him to sit behind me, "You're so cute, Yoon."
"Urasai!"
~~~~~~

When we got to the battlefield, Soo-won's forces were joined by Geun-tae's and were trampling Soo-jin's and Li Hazara's forces. Hazara was desperate enough to attack the villagers for supplies, so that's where we entered.

Hak and Yona were first who saved a villager and sent them on their way. Kija blocked a soldier that was coming up to Hak and Yona and sent the enemy to the ground. Jae-ha launched himself into the air sending down a wave of throwing knives upon the foreign soldiers while Shin-ah and I (I had dropped Yoon off just beyond the battleground because I knew I'd fight and put him in danger) entered the enemy forces and cut them down with our swords (I had started carrying one after we'd left the shrine).

I circled back to get Yoon as Hazara's forces began to retreat, "Come on, Soo-jin's having a hissy fit."

"Right."

~~~~~
We were now on foot as Yona addressed Soo-Jin, "General Soo-Jin."
The general's eyes slightly widened as he recognized her, "So you were alive."
Yoon tensed up, but I softly whispered, "Don't worry so much. We're here, nothing's going to happen to Yona."
He nodded as Yona continued to speak, "You have committed a serious crime. On top of that, you decapitated one of your own soldiers."
"Heh," the fire tribe general muttered, "a little girl is lecturing me?"
Yona did not waver one bit, "Don't be so full of yourself." We made a circle, our backs to each other so we could be ready for anything. Hak and I were on either side of the princess, "You don't even know what you put your people through. You are not fit to be king."
"Kill them!" At Soo-Jin's word, we were surrounded.
"Hime, Yoon, Jessica, get behind me!" Hak said.
"Relax raijuu, I can hold my own. I'll help," I said shoving my sword back into its holster and thrusting my arms forward causing soldiers that were in front of me to be engulfed in flames.
Hak scoffed with a smirk, "What are you, a sadist?"
"Shut up and take care of the soldiers in front of you, Baka."
Everyone fought back-to-back as Zeno kneeled with a shield in front of Yona who had her bow drawn.
~~~~~

After a bit of fighting, Yona and Hak noticed Soo-won staring at our group. Yona then spoke, "We're retreating now! Hak, Kija form a path!" There was a pause before Yona spoke again, "Hak!"

"Roger," both Hak and Kija moved and made a path.

Kija was quick to add, "Jae-ha! Take the princess and Yoon!"

"Got it!"

I grabbed Zeno and pulled him behind Jae ha, "Shin-ah! You've got the rear!"

"Ah!"

We got away and sent the Iza seeds to Tae-jun.

I finally updated!

Yay! Okay, so I didn't write a lot about Soo-won and the actual battle strategy, so to get the full effect, you just need to read chapters 69-74.

I will start writing again from chapter 76. 75 is the conditions that Kai had to meet since they were defeated, so you may want to read that one too.

Keep reading & Happy Easter!
