Jessica's POV
I somehow made my way over to Jae-ha, "Jeez! Those girls are vicious!"
"Ara?" I turned and gave an annoyed look at the perv dragon, "Those seem like my type of women!"
I took my flute and hit him over his head, "Stop your lecherous thoughts."
I was about to sit down when Jae-ha placed a mat under me, "Don't want to see a beauty like you sitting in the dirt."
Seeing no other option, I took my place and we played an uplifting tune. Halfway through, I was pulled to my feet and more or less forced to dance with the locals. If Jae-ha wasn't too busy helping me play music, he'd be on the floor laughing.
I swear it looked like I was a chicken with its head cut off, but it became easier when I threw my flute to the annoying green heathen.
~~~~~~
We were spinning, had been for a while actually. I must've been close to Jae-ha because when I tripped, he was quick to catch me, "Woah there."
"Thanks," I said situating myself beside him and taking my flute.
"Didn't I tell you I didn't want to see a beautiful girl in the dirt?" I gave a snort of laughter before we resumed our playing.
~~~~~~
We sat side by side playing an upbeat tune for about half an hour before it was Yona's time to shine.
Jae-ha and I slowed our music to a dramatic ballad. Yona came up with an old sword and danced beautifully. I nudged Jae-ha and nodded my head in Hak's direction where he was staring at Yona in awe. We smirked.
~~~~~~~
I was up early the next morning and helping the village girls with their work before spotting the fire tribe's men. I gulped, "How long have they been here? The soldiers?"
We were walking back to the village before one of the girls spoke, "They just showed up one day."
Another lady spoke up, "Lately, they've been around more. You shouldn't go near the boarder. You'll be in trouble if the soldiers find you."
Everything was quiet, until I began to feel soft tremors in the ground. I addressed Shin-ah quietly, "Is there something coming from the boarder, Shin-ah?"
He glanced over in the direction and nodded, then addressed the rest of our 'spy' team, "Yona, get down. Horses are coming."
"What?" Jae-ha muttered softly before our group found its way to a hiding spot among the abundance of brush.
The group of soldiers galloped by and Jae-ha pointed out, "They're coming from Kouka."
"But they're not fire tribe soldiers," I said softly concerned for Yona because she's lost all her childishness since we found the fire tribe soldiers.
The young lady from before spoke up, "That's Lord Li Hazara from Sen's capital."
"Li Hazara?!" Yoon said as we all stared in surprise to see the Sen Province's leader coming from Kouka.
I bit my lip, "Kouka isn't aligned with Kai."
"Ah," Yoon muttered, "It's really hard to believe that relations with Northern Kai have suddenly become unrestricted."
"Something's wrong," Yona said, serious as ever. We turned to look at Yona, "Let's go back to Kouka."
