One-Two Millennia Isn't Very Different than Before

Christmas Special

Jessica's POV

It was the day of Christmas and the whole group had finally stopped for the day. Yoon was quick to put us to work, "Thunder Beast, Yona! You two can hunt for food!"

"Hai!" Yona responded.

"Jae-ha!" Said man looked up, "You go with Shin-ah to go get water!" Both nodded, and he finally turned towards Zeno and I, "Jessica, Zeno! Go get firewood!"

We looked over to him, "Roger!"

Zeno and I were not quiet. Quiet wasn't a thing around us when it wasn't needed. Currently, we were reliving our last Christmas together.

"The last Christmas everyone shared was kinda sad," I said softly.

Zeno nodded, "Zeno remembers. Zeno and the others were planning to surprise you and Hiryuu-sama."

"And I got sick," I deadpanned.

Zeno let out a laugh, "Ah, you were always getting sick!"

I looked back on the memory with a smile, "Yeah, but it scared the crap out of everyone because it was the worst bug I'd caught yet! Everyone stopped all preparation and took care of me." I have a look to Zeno, "But if I recall correctly," he stiffened, "you were the most worried."

"W-why wouldn't Zeno be?" I shrugged at his defensiveness.

I then gave a smile, "The others teased you so much." I thought for a second, "Hey, wasn't that the year that you gave me your mother's necklace?"

Zeno's eyes widened, "That's right! Zeno did give you the necklace! Zeno gave it to you early."

It all was coming back as we picked up more wood, "That caused you to constantly be pestered by Shu-Ten! And then you ran outside and started a snowball fight with him."

Zeno started to laugh, "Then everyone joined us out in the snow, and got you sick!"

We were almost back to camp, "Just about anything that happened between you two ended up with me somehow being drenched and then bedridden with a cold."

Zeno began to laugh harder, and by the time we reached the campsite, the two of us were laughing pretty hard.

Although everyone took notice, Yoon was the first to address it, "What's got you two worked up?"

We looked to each other, somehow composed ourselves, and said, "Just reliving Christmas memories." We began to laugh again.

"You two are crazy," Yoon muttered.

Hak and Jae-ha added to the statement without hesitation, "Crazy for each other."

We stopped laughing, looked to each other, then proceeded to look away. I was sure I was blushing, but I didn't know about Zeno.

"Hak, Jae-ha," Yona said looking at them, "that's not nice." Both put their hands up in surrender, Jae-ha wore a smile while Hak deadpanned.

Kija decided to but in, "At my village, we held a feast for Christmas." A realization struck him, "Is this your first time celebrating, Shin-ah?"

Shin-ah nodded silently.

Everyone looked to each other, then Yona spoke up, "We have to make it the best then!" She turned to Yoon, "Can Hak and I go into town?"

"I don't see a problem with it." And with that, they left.

It was now the middle of the night, the others had passed out from partying. Somehow Hak got a hold of some alcohol, so that put the others to sleep in due time.

We had so much fun. I helped Yoon with dinner and Yona had bought little gifts for everyone. They were all little medallions in the colors of the dragons. Of course the four got their color of the dragon they represented. Hak got a dark blue almost black one. Yoon got a pastel green (poor boy got one that had color association with Jae-ha (I'm kidding, jeez)). Yona had a red medallion, and she gave me a violet one.

I twirled mine between my fingers before deciding to attach it to the pendant I got from Hiryuu-sama that I had around my waist.

"The miss is kind, huh?"

I turned to see Zeno sitting himself beside me leaning on the same tree trunk, "Yeah. This has got to be one of my favorite Christmases yet."

Zeno smiled, "Ah, Zeno agrees. Definitely memorable."

We laughed and talked a little more before I had started to dose off. One of the last things I remembered was an arm wrapped around me, me leaning on the person and a blanket covered the two of us.

Zeno was right. This was definitely a memorable Christmas.
