Info:
In this oneshot, the curtains were closed when August looked through Wille's window.

"And you really want to do this?" "Mom" I'm standing next to her in the kitchen. "I'm just saying" "I've been with him since we were 16. 16! He'll be 24 tomorrow..."

"No matter how tolerant people have become about it in recent years, there are still homophobic people" "You didn't want me to be with him at first either. Now you accept it. And we're still together, despite changing schools" "You're right of course" she smiles.

"I know I was quite an asshole at first, I'm still so sorry." "As long as you don't get like that again" I laugh. At that moment, Simon comes into the kitchen.

"Hi" I go to him and kiss him. "Hey how was your day?" "Exhausting. But fortunately it's vacation time now and tomorrow is my birthday, so everything's great" he smiles.

"I have to talk to you about something." I look at my mother, who understands what I mean and leaves the kitchen. "Did something happen?"

"Yes. I've been talking and discussing this with my parents and the others for a long time over the past few weeks. I... we..." he brushes a strand of hair out of my face. A few months ago I decided to let my hair be a bit longer again because I hated the other hairstyle pretty much.

"I want to give you a very special gift. I want... tomorrow... to make this public with us. Well, not directly, but at least that I'm in a relationship." Simon looks at me like he's seen a ghost. "Are serious right now?!" I grin. His reaction is just too funny.

Simon puts his hand on my forehead. "What are you doing?" "I just wanted to check if you don't have a fever" he laughs and hugs me. "I love you so much" he whispers in my ear.

~ The next day
Since Simon has holidays and birthday, I let him sleep. I go downstairs to the meeting room and sit down in my usual place. August will also be here today, which is now rather mediocre, he just gets on my nerves so incredibly.

My mother made him my reserve about four years ago. I agreed to the whole thing on the condition that I really only have to speak to him about anything to do with being crown prince. At that moment he comes in.

"Hey" he raises his hand and gives me a short wave. "Hello" I force a smile. A short time after he sits down, everyone else arrives and the meeting begins.

I have to mention something else. August has no idea that I'm with Simon or that he even lives here. I didn't want anyone to tell him or know about it and Simon didn't want that either, understandable.

Now you're probably wondering how we did it. Since August doesn't live here, it wasn't too difficult. During the meetings that August is present at, Simon is usually already in some lecture and when he's on vacation, like now, he just stays in our room and studies, sleeps, watches some series or films.

I grab my phone and quickly type a message.

- Could you maybe come here after the meeting? I might need your help. Tell August about us...

"Uh August" I put my hand on his shoulder. "Yeah?" he looks at me questioningly. "I have to tell you... something" "Okay" he says slowly and looks around. "Do we have to go somewhere for that, or isn't it such a big secret?" "They all know" I look at the people leaving the hall.

"Aha" he says skeptically. "So... I... I'm... in a... relationship" "Oh" he leans against a table. "How long? What's her name?" "It's a bit complicated" I say hesitantly. At that moment there is a knock on the now closed door and Simon sticks his head in.

I go to him and take his hand. "Simon is my boyfriend since my first year at Hillerska" I smile. "You... you... what? Why? Why him? How long have you been... gay? You're ruining the family's reputation! Why didn't you tell it earlier? What do your parents say about it anyway? And why is he here?"

"I didn't say anything because I knew full well that you would react like that, but I love him. And no, I'm not ruining the family's reputation, because firstly, nobody knows and secondly, loving someone is a natural thing, it doesn't matter what gender that person is. I don't want to label myself, even if I do it publicly, just so we can sort out being gay. Oh yeah, my parents even allowed me to do it publicly, so they stand behind me and support me." I finish my monologue.

Out of the corner of my eye I see Simon looking at August's helpless face and grinning. I kiss his cheek. "Is that why you left Hillerska?" I nod. "But... You're not allowed to make that public!!!! Don't you think about your family at all?"

"I'm thinking of my family. Or why else do you think I haven't made it public for years? I was scared! Actually, I'm still scared, but I know that everything will be even better when I'm out. It will definitely be uncomfortable and exhausting at first, but it's worth it to me"

I put my arm around Simon's waist. "And now excuse us, we still have a birthday to celebrate and something to make public" I smile at Simon and pull him out with me.

"I'm proud of you" he pulls my waist towards him and kisses me. Simon is leaning against a windowsill. He slowly let go of me. "I have to do something very quickly"

I take my phone out of my pocket and go to Instagram. "What do you wanna do?" he looks at me confused. "You'll see in a moment" I click 'new post' with a grin and choose a picture that we took about a week ago.

It is a black and white picture of our hands holding each other. After a short thought, I'll add an even shorter caption.

You❤️.

I look at Simon, who is watching me with a smile. He nods and I click 'Upload'. "Happy Birthday" I grin and kiss him.

August made a big fuss at Wille's mother, like that, Wille is lying and so on. Only when she confirmed that she wasn't lying did he go home without saying anything.

In the afternoon my mom, my sister, Ayub and Rosh came over and celebrated my birthday. I didn't want a big party this year, I just wanted to spend time with my family and with the people who are important to me, which is why I turned off my phone, for example.

And it was great, really. I used to stress out about thanking everyone who congratulated me straight away, now I just wait until the next day.

"Have you actually been on the phone since you posted the picture?" Wille shakes his head. "No you?" I shake my head too. "No" I smile. "I didn't think it was important" "Same" he kisses me grinning. It's now just after midnight and we're lying in bed, arm in arm.

"Shall we check together?" I nod. He picks up his laptop from the bedside table and turns it on. I rest my head on his chest and stare intently at the screen. He opens the comments under his latest picture and slowly scrolls through.

The picture has gone more viral than his others and the comments are very entertaining. Most of them are congratulations, but sometimes there's an
'Oh man. I wanted to marry him'
or
'Well, I'm happy for both of you, but I also want to'.

The thing is, we didn't tell anyone at school back then, which was good for our relationship, but now old friends of Hillerska's got lost in the comments too, wanting to know what she looks like and what her name is, most of them assume, that it's Felice.
