Annas first panick attack

Anna's pov
Today was the practice dance for the deb ball I showed up in my blue flower dress that my mum bought for me and light blue heels as I stood there I had no partner I didn't ask Carson to come yet I got to scared to ask him. "Ew imagine being that disgusting"
"She's all alone"
"No one wants her"
As I stood there In the middle of the room listening to everyone say stuff about me as they all watch me I could feel my chest quicken my breathing wasn't even as I felt shaky and couldn't breathe I ran out of the small room and stood outside my hand in my chest I was now fully crying I can't breathe

I tried my hardest to pull my phone out and call my dad after a few minutes it rang
"Anna"
"Dad"
"What's up"
"I can't breathe" I barely said as I was now on the floor outside of the club
"Where are you"
"Co- country c- cl-"
"Okay I'll be there soon jsut try breathe deep breaths okay"
"Please hurry I'm scared"

Minutes  felt like hours as I faintly saw my dad approach me "hey bug it's dad" he said as I still wasn't breathing as he grabbed my hand holding it to his chest
"Listen to me okay deep breaths I need you to listen Anna deep breaths" he said as I tried but it wouldn't work

"Anna listen to me" he said as I tried looking at him
"Anna breathe ready" he said as he breathed in as I copied then out
"Name five things you can feel"
He asked
"Your hand, your heart beating, the floor, the hot air, my hair"

"Good, four things you can see"
"You, the country club, your car, the road"

"Great three things you can hear"

"Sea, you, the music"

"Two things you can smell"
"Your horrible deodorant and the ocean"

"Are you okay now"
"Yea I thought I was dying"
"You was having a panick attack, I get them a lot"
"What was it like your first one" I asked as I laid my head on my dads shoulder

"It was scary, it always will be scary but I had people there with just have to find your coping mechanism"

"What's you mechanism"

"Surfing, beach, bordwalk, being with my family"

"Oh"

"What made the panick attack happen"

"Everyone in there had partners and I didn't they all staired at me just scared me"

"Well lucky for you I know the dances come on" he said as he jumped up grabbing my hand

"Mr fisher what a suprise"
"Nice to see you to Paige"
"Ah Anna back again"

"I'm gonna dance with her Paige"
"Okay"
"Well till she finds an actual partner" my dad said as he walked with me to the middle and he taught me all the dances

Once we was done and headed home mum was there with ruby all cuddled up on the couch
"Heyyy" she said as me and my dad walked in
"I'm tired as fuck" my dad said as he layed next my mum and sat next to ruby as we all watched Ginny and Georgia

I'm glad my dad was there to help me through it and I'm glad I know I'm not alone too
