(Ch. 24) Rescue

Hunter POV

"WILLOW!!"

Everything had happened so fast and Hunter was shaking seeing the knife protruding from Willow's chest. Willow fell to the floor unconscious and Belos turned away, seeming completely calm even though he had just stabbed someone.

This is all my fault. Willow... Willow's dead... because of me

Hunter was going into a panic attack, he wanted to attack Belos so badly. He wanted to run to Willow to help her, but he was chained to the ground like a weakling. He started hyperventilating and panicking.

"Such a shame, another witch died." Belos said with sarcasm.

He isn't even feeling guilty

Belos just stared at Hunter in silence, while Hunter was in tears. He walked up to Hunter and grabbed his chin looking at him.

"Oh what? You care about a little witch? You're so weak and useless..." Belos kicked Hunter in the stomach hard. The Collector went over to Willow looking confused.

"Why won't she get up?" The Collector said, staring at Willow. Belos just ignored them, still looking disgustingly at Hunter.

Then the wall exploded and Eda, Luz, Darius, and everyone else barged in.

"Eda!?" Hunter yelled out and Belos turned around in surprise. Luz ran in full fury but stopped when she saw Willow on the ground surrounded by blood. Then she resumed running at Belos with even more determination. Hunter was panicking and didn't know what to do until Flapjack flew over to him.

"Oh my Titan Flap!! Thank goodness you're ok!!" Hunter used Flapjack to teleport out of the chains and then he ran straight to Willow not paying any attention to the fight that had broken out around him. He kneeled beside Viney and Gus who were already with Willow.

"Is she going to be ok?" Hunter asked, scared and hopeful at the same time. Viney looked at Hunter then back at Willow.

"She'll live but she'll have to recover for a bit and this knife will probably scar her for life because we didn't make it in time." Viney replied, still doing healing circles around Willow. The dagger had already been removed and was laying a few feet away.

This wouldn't have happened if I had fought back hard enough. I'm so weak and useless, this is all my fault.

"Come on, let's get her out of here while the others are distracting Belos and the scouts." Viney said. Hunter and Gus helped carry Willow outside and lifted her onto Clover. Viney and Gus got on Clover with Willow and Hunter followed them on Flapjack. They arrived at The Owl House where Hooty greeted them before they went inside.

"Its ok, everyone else will follow soon." Gus told Hunter. After getting WIllow settled in Luz's room so she could recover, they waited for a while and Hunter started to get nervous. After about an hour Eda slammed the door open and the rest of the team followed her lead. They all sat in a circle and then Hunter burst into tears.

"Yo-You guys act-actually came for m-me?!" Luz patted Hunter on the back before responding.

"Of course we did! Did you think we were going to leave you for dead?" She said giving Hunter a big hug.

"But Willow... This is all my fault." He cried giving Luz a hug back.

"No it isn't. Belos stabbed Willow, you didn't." Eda responded sternly.

"Bu-But I-I'm the r-reason..."

"No Buts. Its not your fault. Now you on the other hand!" Eda turned angerly to Darius.

"You went against the plan! And worse you brought Willow with you!"

"She wanted to come and plus Hunter would've been cut open and dead if we hadn't acted right away!" Darius responded standing up.

"We came as soon as we realized you were gone, and if we hadn't you, Willow, and Hunter would be dead. Just tell us next time!!" Raine yelled.

"I did tell you but all you did was ignore me!"

Hunter was getting uncomfortable in the middle of all the fighting. Luz noticed this and stood up to break up the fight.

"Guys stop fighting!!"

Everyone went silent.

"What matters is that everyone got out alive ok! Just please, theres no use fighting about something thats already happened."

"I guess you're right." Raine sighed. "Everyone can go home now to sleep. Willow will probably stay here to recover, so could someone please notify her dads. Darius, Eber, and I are now comprimised so we can't go back so I'll stay at The Owl House with Eda but ummm Darius..." Raine trailed off so Eda finished for him.

"You and Eber need to find somewhere else to stay because this house has been getting too crowded lately and with Raine moving in well... umm I think you should stay with... Oh I know! Alador, you guys have known eachother for a while I bet he wouldn't mind." Darius didn't look happy.

"That hack?! Why?!" He replied.

"He wouldn't mind, our house is giant anyways. Also don't call my dad a hack." Amity told Darius. He rolled his eyes and sighed.

"Finneeeeeee."

"Ok with that settled everyone here leave please!!" Eda yelled shooing everyone out the door. They all left and Eda sighed happily. She jumped onto the couch and her feet detached from her body.

"Finnaly Freedom..." Eda said closing her eyes. Hunter smiled shakily and went to leave the room but Eda stopped him.

"One moment kiddo." She said pulling Hunter to a sitting position on the couch. "I just want to ask if your ok. Did Belos hurt you or do anything else to you?" Hunter flinched a bit remembering what Belos had done when Kikimora had brought him in.

I don't want Eda to worry about me though...

"I'm fiiiiinnnnnnneeeeeee Ok! No damage here! Yup! Perfectly fine." Hunter lied waving his hand in a nonchalant motion. Eda didn't look convinced but she decided to just leave the kid alone for now.

"Ok, just please tell me if you aren't feeling well." Eda responded and then she went back to sleep. Hunter stood up and then went into Luz's room where Willow was recovering. He curcled into a ball and started crying when he saw Willow laying there motionless. He went to the corner and decided to try and sleep, but the same though kept coming back.

All my fault. This is because of me. Everyone would be better off without me.
