𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐀𝐑 𝐒𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐃 once more and she gripped the seat to get some stillness. Her mother was saying things but she struggled to register it all in the mix of the rush, struggling to grasp all that was happening. Luckily it seemed as though her mother wasn't speaking to her, but Rufaro in the earpiece she wore. When she finally grasped some breath in her lungs, enough to calm down just a bit. Her body froze and that air in her lungs quickly rushed out when her eyes locked on the wall they were rapidly approaching. Her heartbeat nearly stopped and skipped a couple beats, something that would probably comeback to get her later.

Niari quickly swerved the car and made a sharp turn, and her heart seemed to be slightly satisfied with their safety. However, that safety was very temporary and very short lived. Her eyes widened when she saw a truck heading straight for her. She reached over to grab her mother's arm and next thing she knew, she was shouting.

"Mom!"

A fearful and feeble attempt to avoid said crash was made when Niari sharply turned the car to make an abrupt turn. She pulled Amara's seat back just before the car crashed into a pole and her head was slammed back against her seat. The truck slammed into those who chased her, causing a huge wreck and small explosion.

There was smoke everywhere, Amara felt the throbbing feeling of her head laying back against her seat, her seatbelt clinging to her body like it was did its best to protect her. She could only breathe slow, her body felt too much pain to even attempt to open her eyes. She laid there, alive and breathing, but in too much pain to anything other than exist. Then she remembered her mother.

"Mom..." Her voice sounded foreign to her, her prior screaming before the crash made her voice hoarse. She reached her hand over to feel the body of her mother and she felt the material of her clothing. "Mom," she whispered again through her lack of breath, but she noticed that her mother was not responding. "Mom..." She finally got the strength to open her eyes and just barely turn her head, and her barely functioning heart sunk through her body.

The sight before her eyes was her bloodied and bruised mother lying forward with her head against the airbag of the driver's wheel. She was unconscious and Amara wasn't sure if she was even breathing. "Mom!" Her voice cracked as she shouted, her breathing picked up.

Amara fight all the soreness in her body to move. Her hands unbuckled the seat strap and she pulled on the handle to push the door open the door, her blood covering it. She forced her body to get out of the car, nearly falling on the ground. Her breath got caught in her throat as she used her bloodied hands against the car to guide her towards the driver's side.
