Chapter Nine: We're supposed to be enemies, right?

It turns out that George was the fated one to Elizbeth. Leave it to the twins to both be mated to vampires. The Weasley's family would throw a fit. While Daniel and the twins were off learning with Elizabeth, me and Lucian had been led to a more private room to discuss our meeting we were going to have. The King and Queen were quite an impressive sight to behold, two of the most powerful beings sat before me like their coven didn't just try to tear me apart. Some of my marks were still healing but I didn't fault them for defending their King and Queens. My brain wanted to pick apart everything and my curiosity grew fascinated by the dynamics of a vampire coven, an all-powerful one at that.

It was an odd thing to think about, a vampire and a werewolf in the same room with both supposed to be enemies, yet here I was with the most powerful vampires known to wizard kind. My magic and my wolf could feel the power rolling off them both in waves, leaving a lustful taste on my tongue. A sense of powerful dark magic that I could only dream to one day possess. Vampires were said to be dark creatures since they were closest to death. The only other being would be death itself.

Bellatrix had expressed that dark magic was all-consuming to those who did would give into it without thinking of the consequences. It was dangerous in those who had no idea how to weld it which is why Lucian had become more strict. When I had awakened to this 'dark' side of the wizarding world, it was all new and exciting but I knew of the dangerous that dark magic posed; I just never thought I would be surrounded by so many dark beings which included myself.

The office was almost as large as two rooms, a giant desk sat in the middle with another desk against the wall. Noting that both had their scents in this room proved to me that they both worked together but separate when need be. "This accord we shall be discussing will become vampire law if we agree, this also means that any aid you need, we shall do our best to provide. Even if that means a war with other factions. It will be the first of its kind, though not many will agree with this accord but they will have no choice but to obey even if they dislike it. Our word is law Miss Romanoff." With that, we were underway with our meeting with the oldest vampires in the entire world.

Hours later...

We had been discussing the better half of this accord for the last couple hours, picking it apart with all agreements and disagreements to make sure we left no loopholes. I looked at the vampire Queen, Victoria, with satisfaction. "That is my aim. I wish to bring ALL mythical creatures under my protection. Including those that the Wizarding world think as 'irrelevant'. " Vlad gazed at me with disbelief.

"Surely even a being as powerful as you would be unable to protect all creatures?" nodding with agreement, "I know that is why I have set up councils around the world, I also wish to set up councils with your most trusted, if that would be something that interests you?" the two shared a look between them before they looked at me, impressed.

Victoria spoke, her voice not cold but a softer tone, "You really have thought of everything haven't you? For someone so young..." She smiled before saying, "I can't wait to see what becomes of you in the future." I couldn't help but preen and feel proudful at her comment.

Vlad then spoke, "I shall get my most trusted generals and we shall create the first council to join you accord." I nodded my thanks, he turned to his wife giving her a kiss then he disappeared. She spoke, gazing at where Vlad had disappeared, "Even after all this time passing, my cold heart beats with warmth for him." She turned to me promptly, "Tell me Hermione Romanoff, do you have a fated one?"

I couldn't help the smile on my face as I said, "Yes though my kind refer to them as mates. Bellatrix Black." Her eye became gleeful, "Ah yes, the Blacks. A long strong lineage. Perfect mate for someone such as yourself." A serious look came over her face as she said, "Time's will be hard and you must protect those you cherish the most. People will do their best take what is yours, and it will destroy you."

I could tell that there was a story but I bit my tongue not to pry in worry of offending her. She quietly excused herself before leaving and I looked to Lucian in question but saw a pained expression on his face. He sighed before saying, "Victoria lost her brother after his mate died, only meeting the once as he never got to know who they were before they died in front of him. He was...a close friend."

I knew there was more to it but I didn't press, knowing that Lucian opening up to me was like pulling teeth. So whenever he did, despite the incessant need of wanting to find out more and ask, I never asked. The thought of losing Bellatrix was too horrifying to consider but I could not imagine the pain of losing your mate.

The vampire coven was a large one, they held around two thousand vampires here, though most lived elsewhere. This was the main coven for the entirety of the vampire species to remain hidden. Lucian had explained that there was elite groups that were put together to hunt those that broke the laws, feral and law enforcers.

I could envision how easily everything would fit into place once the accord was signed by both the vampire King and Queen. It would become absolute and maintained throughout the clans, however I still had much work to do which included my trails. Despite being preoccupied, I could feel something big was coming and I knew that whatever it was, I had no choice but to be ready for it. Therefore already knowing it would not be easy. Nothing ever is.
