??? POV

Watching from afar as the Alpha descended into the first trail, I could feel the untapped power that she had yet to access. It will be interesting to see how well this one will fare compared to the others with challenges, and how her chosen will handle her changes. It was only the first trial and for the first time in centuries, I felt what must have been the emotion 'excitement.' Yes, a deep feeling of excitement thrumming throughout my being.

Bellatrix POV

An elite group of Death eaters surrounded the table, wearing masks while others like Fenrir Greyback, Alecto Carrow and myself sat without the mask because of our high ranks, and simply because we felt no need to wear such a thing. Nearly cackling out in glee as Greyback avoided being near me because of my muddy. It was a small elite group of us that were listening to our Lord explaining the next steps to his plan when I felt my connecting to my muddy flair to pain suddenly.

IMPOSSIBLE! I knew she was out hunting the Potter boy and I kept back from breaching her mind while she was hunting to not distract her. I knew that Potter would not have landed a hit on my muddy so I knew that whatever had landed a hit on her must have been something powerful. I saw our Lord tilt his head my way as he sensed my distress, nodding to me to leave without a word. No one dared questioned me as I slipped out of the room.

Seeing the image she sent me of the feral vampire with its eyes glowing blue, I couldn't help as some worry grew. Nearly scolding myself for being so weak, Bellatrix Black does not panic nor worry. Yet here I was panicking. I had full faith that my pretty that she could hold her own but she had never fought a vampire other than Bjorn and that was controlled and testing according to Lucian. Even she knew that. This. This was the real thing and a vampire that was feral but, she could tell it still held some kind of intellect that wasn't swamped by bloodlust which IS what worried me.

Trying to reach Hermione through our mind link but getting no response made me anxious. Quickly rushing my way towards Lucian but already knowing that she would have sent him the same thing as it was something she had yet to deal with. By no means was she an expert on vampires but she knew enough. Worry gnawed away at my gut. Pathetic to worry, ours will be fine. But for once, I ignored the voices.

Lucian's POV

I had felt Hermione's panic through our mind link and quickly looked through her eyes. Well, isn't this interesting. I saw a feral vampire, that was a master vampire, attacking Hermione. I felt no need to panic as I knew she would be able to handle this, despite the panic about facing a master feral vampire with no support. She needed to know what she was capable of and instinctually I knew she would be ok. I sighed as I heard Bellatrix's heels storming down the hallway. I leaned back just as she slammed my door open.

Levelling her with a dissatisfied look, my voice dry as I said, "Bella, how lovely of you to enter without knocking." She huffed before saying, "Hermione is currently fighting a feral vampire. A master one at that and I-" pausing, as if she was gathering herself "-I fear that she may not be ready to fight this. Let me go to her." I sighed, knowing that it was something we could not interfere in. "Bellatrix, there is some things that we cannot intervene and this is one of those times."

Wincing as her glare hit me, her eyes filling with crazed insanity. "Why am I not surprised you already knew..." She scoffed before ongoing nearly shouting, "There is no way you are telling me to sit back while my mate possibly gets gravely injured?!" I stood, leaning forward on the desk looking at pleadingly, "This is something that Hermione has to do alone. We try and get involved, then we may make it worse Black."
