"Miss Thornton! Miss Thornton." A maid yelled through the hallway.

"What the hell is that?" Nigel asked, rising from his chair in the dining room and following Delilah and Elizabeth to the hall. The maid stopped in front of Delilah and grabbed her hand while she fought for air.

"God, woman, speak!" Elizabeth asked.

"Miss," The maid said to Delilah. "It's Julie, she had an accident. She was coming back from running errands and had a bad car accident."

"What? Is she okay?" Elizabeth asked nervously.

"They took her to the hospital."

"But... but what happened?" Delilah asked, confused.

"All they say it's that she lost control of the car and crashed into a truck." The maid said.

"Oh my God. Papa, I'm going to go see her. I have to!" Delilah said, shaking.

"Sure, but take the driver. You can't drive like that. I'll make some calls to the hospital." Nigel said.

"Sir, Mark took the night off." The maid told him.

"I can take her." Kahil said, appearing at the hall.

"Yes, let's go." Delilah said, pulling him outside.

"You can't see her right now, I'm sorry. Only immediate family." A nurse told Delilah. She looked like a mess. She felt sick. The only friend she had was in the hospital and she didn't know how she was.

"She doesn't have any family here. I'm like family." Delilah cried to the nurse.

"Well, in her emergency contacts we have her husband listed. We already talked to him. He's on his way."

"Husband? She wasn't married."

"I'm sorry, ma'am. I have to follow the rules. You can wait over there with your friend."

Delilah looked back to where Kahil waited for her. She walked back and slumped down on the chair. "What did they say?" He asked.

"They won't let me see her. They say only immediate family, and apparently she got married without even telling me. Did any of you guys know?"

"No, she is very private. Look, Delilah, you have to eat something, we've been here for hours already."

"I'm not hungry and I won't move from here until I hear something."

"Do you want me to get you a coffee?"

"That would be great, thank you."

"I'll be right back." He said as she watched him walk away. It had been two weeks since that night on the beach that Elizabeth had caught them, they haven't spoken since. She loved him so much.

"Miss Thornton?" A man interrupted her thoughts.

"Yes?"

"I'm Dr. Robinson. Your uncle called me and asked me if I could take over Julie Thomas' case." He said sitting next to her.

"Yes, how is she?"

"I can only tell you that her state is very critical. She lost a lot of blood and right now she is unconscious."

"But, will she be okay?"

"I can't guarantee anything at the moment, I'm sorry."

"When can I see here?"

"Only immediate family is allowed at the moment. I know you are very close to her, I'll see what I can do, okay?" He said standing up and leaving her there.

After the doctor left, Steve appeared and sat next to her. "What are you doing here, Steve?"

"I heard about Julie, so I came to check up on her."

"Why?"

"I loved her once, you know?"

"You have a weird way of showing your love."

"Delilah, that night I was drunk. And I'm sorry for doing it. But it wasn't so bad, we have a beautiful kid."

"Julie hates you."

"I apologized to her and she forgave me. Anyway, she's the mother of my child. If something happens to her, I get Tommy."

"What?"

"I'm his father."

"You are not part of his life. You raped her!"

"Julie never told you, I gave Tommy my name. His real name is Tom Dayton-Thomas."

"He's more my kid than yours. I raised him."

"The court won't care. Don't forget my father is a judge. They will favor me."

"Steve, don't do that. You know I love that kid."

"Chill out, will you? Julie isn't even dead yet." He said standing up and walking up to the nurse's station.

Kahil appeared and handed her the cup of coffee. "What is this asshole doing here?" He asked.

"He came to check up on Julie. He's up to something." She said as Steve turned towards them.

"Kahil!" He said surprised. "What are you doing here?"

"He's accompanying me, Steve. Although it is none of your business." She said, sipping her coffee.

"Didn't know you brought the help as companions. Isn't that low for you?" As Steve closed his mouth, Kahil stood up clenching his fist.

"Miss Thornton." The nurse interrupted. Delilah got up and stood in front of the nurse. "You will have a chance to go see Mrs. Dayton as soon as her husband goes."

"Husband? Dayton? What is going on?" Delilah asked, looking at Steve.

"That would be me." Steve said with a smile. "Guess you aren't the only one with a taste for the help." And walked away.

Delilah turned towards Kahil, shocked. "Julie hates Steve, how could this happen?" Kahil pulled her into his arms and hugged her tight.
