During dinner that night, there wasn't too much tension between them. Maybe because of George's presence.

"Maria, you're a great cook." Steve said.

"Where did you learn to cook like this?" Delilah asked, trying to keep the conversation flowing.

"I was raised by our cook. My parents didn't have much time for me, and apparently they couldn't hire a nanny, so I was practically thrown in the kitchen." Maria said.

"I'm so sorry to hear that." Delilah said.

"Oh, don't be. I loved it." Maria said smiling.

"What do you guys have planned for tomorrow?" George asked.

"I have to work, buddy." Steve quickly answered.

"What about you, ladies?"

"Um, getting this house in order." Delilah said without looking up from her plate.

"Forget about that. Tomorrow I'm going to take you to a picnic. Tommy will love it and Emma can sleep all day without being disturbed. What do you say?" George said.

"I don't know, Steve? What do you think?" Delilah asked, holding Steve's hand.

"Sure, have fun. I'm trusting you, man. These are my women." Steve said, smiling and winking at Delilah while her stomach churned.

"Sir, the letter you've been waiting for." A servant said entering the dark study.

"Thanks, Julio." Kahil said, taking the letter.

"Apparently, Delilah Thornton or should we say Delilah Dayton, soon forgot about the duke. She is now married to Steve Dayton. Rumors are that Delilah is expecting. That could be the reason for the hasty wedding. Their family will be growing. We wish them luck in their early marriage."

"Expecting?" Kahil looked at the newspaper Nigel had sent him.

"Del, are you pregnant?" George asked as she got out of the water. After Steve left for work, they took Maria to her parent's house, George took Delilah and Tommy to the beach.

"What? What makes you think that?" She asked, sitting next to Tommy.

"The papers are saying it. And they're not wrong occasionally." George said.

"Well, I don't think I'm pregnant. We've only been married a couple of weeks. It's too soon to know."

"Or maybe you ordered it earlier." George laughed as she held her stomach.

"What are you insinuating?"

"Del, it's me. You're going to tell me you didn't have sex with Steve before getting married?"

"I shouldn't be discussing this with you." She said getting up.

"Hi, family." Steve said from behind.

"Steve, what are you doing here? I thought you were working?" George asked.

"I got off early. Delilah, are you okay? The color has rushed from your face." Steve said, walking towards them.

As he got close, she looked at Tommy. "I think I'm going to be sick." She tried moving and fainted, Steve catching her.

"What happened to me?" Delilah asked, waking up in George's car.

"You fainted. Are you sure you're not pregnant?"

"Of course, I'm sure. It was the sun, it was too hot."

"When I moved into the house you got dizzy."

"Where's Tommy?" She asked, looking around the car.

"Steve took him."

"Why?"

"I don't know. Well, we are here. Home sweet home."

"Just in case, congratulations?" George said to Steve as he entered the apartment.

"Congratulations for what?" Steve asked.

"I think you're going to be a father."

"I don't think so. I used protection with Tina. The same thing I should've done with the other two. I have two kids already. I hope that wench isn't pregnant. And if she is, it isn't mine."

"Tina? Your maid?"

"Who were you talking about?"

"Your wife, Steve. I think she's pregnant."

"You think, really? I heard something like that from the club."

"Well, she has the symptoms."

"Um, I'm kind of beat. I'm going to bed. See you in the morning." He said walking to the room. When he got in the room, he slammed the door, waking Delilah up.

"Damn, Steve. I'm trying to sleep." Delilah said, sitting straight on the bed.

"God, you couldn't use protection with that doorman?"

"What are you talking about?"

"You had sex with the doorman without protection. You didn't know the damn guy!"

"Where is this conversation going? You knew I had sex with him."

"Yes, but I thought you had enough respect for yourself to use protection!"

"Where is Tommy, Steve?" She gulped.

"Don't change the subject. He's not here. Figure we needed a break from him."

"Where is he, Steve?" She said getting off the bed and walking towards the door.

"You're not going anywhere!" He pulled her back in the bed.

"Steve!"

"You are pregnant, aren't you? Why didn't you tell me?"

"What was I going to say? Hey, Steve, you know what? I'm pregnant! And you, my husband, aren't the father." He slapped her as soon as she finished speaking.

"I've respected you enough. I was waiting until you were willing, but I'm not waiting anymore." He said unbuckling his pants.

"Steve, what are you doing?" She cried as he grabbed her hair.

"Are you going to have an abortion?"

"No, Steve, I won't."

"Right, so, I'm going to have sex with you, so I can say that at least something of me is in there."

"No." She said getting loose from his grip and trying to run away. He grabbed her by her waist and threw her back on the bed.

"You have no choice." He said punching her, knocking her out.
