"You made me look like a fool back there!" Steve said furiously as they left. "Our room?" He mimicked her.

"I don't want to sleep in the same room as you."

He grabbed her face tightly. "Delilah, we are going to be married for the rest of our lives." He pushed her away and looked around. "Where is that damn kid?" He asked, turning and seeing him playing with a stick. "Come here, you brat." He grabbed Tommy and put him over his shoulder.

"Mama! Bad man. Mama!" Tommy shrieked.

"Steve, let him down. He's just a kid. Do you want him to hate you?"

Steve placed Tommy in the car and slammed the door. "Do you want him to die? You better start believing that I would do anything to have you." He grabbed her and kissed her hard. "Now, look happy, we just bought an apartment. Go home, get some rest and see you in the morning, at our wedding."

"Nigel! Were you marrying Delilah to a duke?" Elizabeth asked entering the study.

"Yes, how do you know?"

"Kahil was him! Look at this paper." She said, handing him the club's newspaper.

"Mystery man uncovered." Nigel read. "Mystery man that weeks ago was seen strolling around our club with Miss Delilah Thornton was uncovered. His name, Duke Kahil Kirtpatricks, known as Kay in his homeland. He came to see Delilah, he acted like a servant to see how she would act. He fooled us all. He must've left because she picked Steve."

"Ni, read the other page."

"In other news, Judge John Dayton has lost all his money gambling. Pregnant wife threatened to leave. Also, today Delilah Thornton and Steve Dayton are getting married. Civil Ceremony. Apparently, it isn't all bad news for the Dayton's. We wish them the best of luck. I'm going to kill Steve! He ain't marrying Del." Nigel said, slamming the newspaper on his desk.

"It's too late, Ni. They already got married."

"What do you mean? The wedding isn't until this afternoon."

"I don't know why they rushed it, but they got married this morning."

"I lost her."

"This will be our room while we furnish the apartment. Okay?" Steve said to Delilah while she played on the floor with Tommy.

Suddenly a shot sounded and Maria screamed. "What was that?" Delilah asked, scared.

"I don't know." Steve said, running out of the room.

"Tommy, stay here. I'll be right back." Delilah said, closing the door and following Steve down the stairs. When they arrived they found Maria crying loudly holding the study door.

"Maria, what...? Oh my God. Delilah, take Maria outside." He said when he saw his dad dead on top of his desk holding a gun.

"Maria, what happened?" Delilah asked her, handing her a glass of water.

"I was going... I was going to tell John I wasn't feeling well. When I opened the door he was sitting there at his desk holding a gun to his head. As soon as he saw me he pulled the trigger." She said, shaking.

"Maria, you have to try to calm down. It's not good for the baby."

"Why did he shoot himself? Was it because of the papers?"

"What do you mean?"

"Oh my God, Delilah."

"What is it? Are you okay?"

"I think my water just broke. The baby is coming now."

"Come, let's go to the hospital. Tina," Delilah called the maid. "Mrs. Dayton is having the baby. If Steve asks for us, tell him I took her to the hospital, and could you please check up on Tommy, he's in Steve's room."

"Yes, ma'am."

"And where is Mrs. Dayton, your father's wife." An officer asked Steve.

"I don't think she could tell you anything. She entered the room as my father shot himself." Steve said. "This was next to him." He handed the officer a piece of paper.

"I need to kill myself. This lack of money would've painfully and slowly killed me anyway. This is the best way. Your father was broke?"

"Yes, he was. I didn't think he would go to these extremes."

"Okay, we still need to talk to his wife."

"Could you do that at another time? You can imagine the shock of seeing her husband kill himself, and she's pregnant. She's resting right now."

"We'll come by tomorrow."

"I'll walk you to the door."

After the detectives left, Steve went to his room and saw Tina playing with Tommy. "Oh, hi, sir." She quietly said.

"Where the hell is my wife?"

"She had to take Mrs. Dayton to the hospital, she went into labor."

"And you couldn't tell me that earlier?" He asked furiously, cornering her.

"You... you were busy with the detectives."

"You are so beautiful. It's been so long." He said rubbing himself on her.

"Sir, please, don't." She said, trying to fight him off. "Your son is here."

"Tommy, let me show you to your room. And Tina, you stay right there, it's an order." He left with Tommy, and a minute later came back. Tina stood shaking in the same place. "Now, where were we?" He asked closing the door behind him, and you could hear Tina crying and screaming.
