"Gising na po ba si ate, mommy?" Andrea asked her mom in a half-hushed voice, with her face was pressed against the door to Ana's room. "Okayyyy... nope. She's not," the girl added.

"Be quiet mga kids, ha?" Gemma softly reprimand her children and nephews while putting her index finger on her nose.

"Opo," the kids answered softly and nodded in response.

"Ready na ba?" Andrea asked the boys, and they nodded excitedly with smiles flashing on their faces.

Dahan-dahan nang binuksan ni Gemma yung pintuan as the kids were the first to enter the bedroom while tiptoeing. I woke up to someone counted to three and saw faces of the kiddos na nakapaligid pa sa kama ko. Anong meron?

"Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you!" kanta ng mga bata habang napabilog tuloy yung mga mata ko sa mga nakikita ko na hawak nila.

Andrea and Erdie held a WHATTATOPS each na may kandila, Nathaniel and Albert held a white cartolina na may nakasulat na HAPPY BIRTHDAY ATE ANNA! in oil pastel, at sina Sevier at Chris naman ay may hawak na tig-iisa na pink tulips na gawa sa crochet at handmade cards.

"Awww you guys! 'Di nyo na kailangan gawin to!" I cooed and giggled.

"Blow the candles, ate!" masayang sambit ni Andrea.

"Thank you talaga! Thank you! I love you, kiddos!" I joyously remarked with the kids moved closer for a hug.

"Happy birthday, ate!" bati nila Sevier at Chris sabay bigay nila sa akin yung crochet tulips at card.

"Thank you!" I pulled them for a hug sabay halik sa noo nila.

Tita Gemma moved towards me at niyakap rin ako, "16 na siya! Happy birthday to our sunshine!" she said while giving me a buzz on my cheek and a kiss on my forehead.

"Thank you po, tita!" I smiled. "Nasaan na po pala sila?" I asked, referring to Daddy E.

"You'll see," she respond with a wink. "Let's go! Nakahanda na pala ang breakfast!" she motioned me and the kids to go downstairs.

Sabay-sabay kami bumababa from my room and we already smelled the inviting aroma of bacon blanketed the whole living area. We followed where that scent coming from, that lead us to the dining room...
