Nakauwi na ng Pilipinas ang pamilyang Marcos para maigayak yung mga sarili nila para sa gagawing proclamation bilang President-Elect ng Pilipinas.

It's 1 am, and I'm hugging something soft while sleeping with it's familiar vanilla-like scent. Well, I thought it's Liza at first - dala 'to siguro ng pagod galing ng biyahe. But nope. Pagdilat ko, unan pala yung nakayakap ko.

Nasaan kaya yung asawa ko? I ask myself as I slowly rose from my bed while feeling my throat dry. I immediately went downstairs to get a drink when I saw Liza there, sitting on the counter with a mug of coffee on one hand.

"Hon?" my wife flinched when she heard me calling her, saka lumingon siya sa direksyon ko, "Can't sleep?" ani ko.

"A little bit," then released a soft chuckle as she turned around, began massaging her temples with her head shaking and murmured something that alarmed me.

I felt like somethings bothering her in her sleep, at kinutuban ko na it's not about the proclamation mamayang hapon. Kaya tumungo ako sa direksyon niya at saka ko siyang niyakap patalikod at dinampian ng halik sa pisngi neto - para gumaan man din kahit papano yung pakiramdam niya.

"What's wrong, love?" pabulong ko na tinanong.

Napabuntong-hininga na lamang eto, "Well, apparently... I don't know, but..." umiiling eto, "This one's kept on bugging me since last night."

Umupo ako sa tabi niya. "You can tell me what it is, so I can help you naman." I said, caressing her hair.

When she looked at me, I can feel my heart pounding fast and... thumping hard like a base drum out of nervousness. Hindi ko alam kung bakit, but it made me worried for some reason.

"Hon. I know this sounds absurd pero... please... 'wag... 'wag na tayong pumunta dun proclamation." my forehead creased when she said these, but I noticed that nanginginig yung boses niya at parang iiyak na siya.

"W-what made you think of that?" mahinahon kong panimula, "You know how the proclamation is important for newly elected officials, honey." I gently cupped my wife's face.

Silence eroded for a few seconds until Liza spoke, "I know. But..." she paused for a moment, "... I just couldn't shake this off. Ramdam ko na parang may masamang mangyayari sa atin. I don't know what it is, pero wag naman. Wag naman sana..." her voice cracked while sobbing quietly.

Wala akong maisip na magandang sasabihin para gumaan yung loob niya, so I opened my arms - initiated a hug for her, letting her cry on my shoulder until she's fully okay.

"Speedy noodles? Well, you might have killed an entire industry!" banat ko kay Irene after niyang mai-kwento sa akin about sa 'speedy noodles' thing. New terminology para sa instant noodles? Good one, Rene.😊

"Please kuya, don't make me go damay on that!" conyong pagka-sabi naman ni Celestina sabay pag-irap niya sa akin.

"Just kidding, bunso." I chuckled, while watching everyone in the lounge - chit-chatting and indulging in the food na naka-serve naman sa dining table.

"Hey. Musta naman pala ang pamangkin ko?" she said, referring to Anna na kinuwento ko yun sa kanya days ago.

"She's fine naman." panimula ko, "Napagod lang sa exams niya. And lately, pina-invite niya kami na mag-stay sa kanila for like, a few days. Payag naman kami nina Liza dun, for sure gusto niya rin na maka-bonding ulit after from what happened." kwento ko, bigla na lang na-flashback yung utak ko about sa nangyaring sagutan na naming mag-ama.
