It's the eve of Bongbong's birthday, yet Liza is not in the mood to celebrate. Hindi dahil sa nag-iinarte siya, she's just feeling under the weather.
'Di niya kinaya yung tolerance ng halo-halong mga amoy ng pabango at pagkain na dahilan kaya nararamdaman niya yung pagkahilo, along with her hormones. Plus that she's not allowed to drink any wine or champagne. She's just thankful that everyone downstairs understood the situation, kaya she's glad na 'di niya kailangang pumilit na sumama dun.
Not only that, she's also preparing a surprise present that Bong will surely gonna be happy for it. Eka nga, saving the best for the last.
Everything she'll gonna show it to her husband is now inside of a box. Tinago niya muna eto sa bedside table until it's her cue.
While waiting for her husband, Liza opened the glass doors leading to the balcony kung saan ang sea view with the islands of Batanes. Her arms rested on the railing with the cool breeze brushing on her skin that made her smile. Tumingala siya sa langit at tinignan ang mga nagniningning na bituin.
She rested her elbow on the railing with her chin on her palm. Pumikit naman ang mga mata niya as she pictured herself on the bed, humming a soft lullaby with a three or four-year-old girl who was securely wrapped in Liza's arms.
And as if the little girl beside her understood what it meant, she lift her face to look directly at her mother and uttered these words softly; "I love you, Mommy."
Liza answered the child back, "Mommy always loves you, now and forever, baby..."
But her imagination break away when she felt someone's behind her back, but had no idea that it's Bongbong until he gently wrapped his arms around his wife.
"Feeling better already?" he whispered on her ear.
Tumango naman si Liza habang nakakaramdam ng kiliti. "A bit, I guess? Nahihilo pa rin, but not really that intense."
Dahan-dahan nang kumalas si Liza sa yakap saka tumungo sa bedside table with Bong watching her close.
"What's that?" Bongbong asked, Liza turned around with a small white box with a red bow wrapped on it.
"Happy birthday to my Tapa, my Bonget, and most of all, my soulmate!"
Bongbong smiled that showed his bunny teeth. "Ohh, so that's why. May something pala, ah?" he giggled. "Oh well, that's thoughtful of you, dear." he uttered, planted soft kisses on Liza's forehead then on her lips as a thank-you.
"Open it na, hon!" Liza giggled in her sweetest tone, excited to see his reaction on what he'll found out soon.
"Oo na, sweetheart. Just wait." Bong handed the box and begun to shake it first before he unwrapped the ribbon and pryed the lid open.
Inside of the box were neutral-colored baby boots na gawa ng yarn na pang-crochet. Napakunot tuloy ng noo si Bong na dahilan kaya natawa na lamang si Liza. He's confused on why it has something that only babies would wear.
Pero kalaunan, nagpapahiwatig din eto na it has something to do with the weird cravings she had, her unexpected emotional outbursts, and the unpredicted vomiting in the mornings—especially during breakfast.
