Annaliese
Nandito ako ngayon sa kusina with titas Gemma at Dorothy para mag-bake kami ng cake. This time naman, para kay Mommy Lynn dahil birthday niya ngayon.
"I-ready n'yo na yung mga ingredients needed for the fondant pati sa icing," utos ni tita Dorothy habang ilalagay niya yung cake batter sa oven.
"Okie dokie!" I stand on my tiptoes at inabot ko yung powdered sugar at food coloring sa cabinet, then tumungo sa ref for the butter, unflavored gelatin, and vanilla.
"Piping bags are ready," sambit ni tita Gemma and may dala nga siyang frosting bags and a small bowl naman para sa gagawing fondant.
Pagkatapos nun ay inumpisahan na namin gawin yung fondant at icing habang binabake pa sa oven yung cake. Na-mix ko na yung mga ingredients para sa fondant when I felt hands on my shoulders sabay dinampian ng halik sa ulo ko.
Napalingon ako dun, and it's tito Angelo pala! "Hi tito!" bati ko sabay halik sa pisngi niya. "How's the pulong po kanina?" I asked.
"Smooth sailing as always," sagot neto saka lumapit kay tita Gemma, "Para kay Mom yan?' tanong naman neto.
"Luh! Nalimutan ni mama's boy what day is it today!" tita Gemma smirked, teasingly.
"Nagtatanong lang naman, o!" sambit neto, while me and tita Dorothy just chuckled. "And, speaking of Mom, nasaan pala siya?" he asked.
"Nagpapahinga pa sa taas, Gelo." sagot ni tita Dorothy, "May sipon at nagkasinat yan kaninang umaga. Pero may gana naman siyang kumain kaninang tanghali, so no worries." dagdag pa neto.
*ting~*
"Ako na po ang bahala dyan," I wore the mittens for safety tsaka tumungo sa oven at dahan-dahan ko naman binuksan para mailabas ko yung cake.
"Hmmm~~" we hummed, inhaling that sweet aroma of the baked cake.
Nilapag ko ng maayos yung cake tsaka ni-ready na ni tita Dorothy na ilagay yung fondue sa ibabaw. Maya-maya ay nag-start na kami mag-decorate hanggang sa satisfied na kaming lahat sa result.
