(Landon)
“It's nothing, Jacob, I'm fine. I think I just need to cool off a bit.” Jacob didn't trust me, so he was skeptical about leaving.
I was feeling a bit warm a couple of hours ago, but now that Micah is not with me, I'm feeling better. At least, that's what I kept on telling myself.
“When was the last time you went for a run in your wolf form?” Jacob asked. I furrowed my brows as I tried to think. It wasn't that long ago and Shane wasn't complaining, so I thought that it might be ok.
“About a couple of weeks ago I think, but it's alright, though. The way I'm feeling has nothing to do with my wolf.” I replied, not sure who I was trying to convince.
“Keep telling yourself that. Tell you what, tomorrow is Saturday. Why don't we take our mates and family to a hotel that has a pool and have some fun? I'm sure that Micah won't object, It's really hot during the days and I need to take Arlo and the pups somewhere instead of here.” I guess that was a good idea.
We couldn't stay cooped up at the pack house every day, sometimes we have to leave and have some fun.
“Okay, that's good. I'll go and get Micah and tell him that…" I didn't make it far as I was suddenly stopped by a barrier that appeared out of nowhere. Furthermore, I turned and glared at Jacob, for stopping me from seeing my mate.
“Tomorrow, he's tired and he needs the rest. What you're doing is stressing him, and it's not good for him or the pup. You can sleep and in the morning you'll see him.” Did I like it when Jacob was like this? Heck no.
His constant interference in my life was becoming annoying to me.
Logan was also another problem, I was this close to pummeling his face in the ground, too bad it wouldn't do anything to him.
“Fine, I'll go and get some sleep. But if you try to keep me away from Micah in the morning, we are going to have some problems.” Jacob waved me off and smirked.
“Oh and Landon? Don't think that I'm a fool. I placed a barrier here so that you won't be able to leave. Have fun sleeping by yourself.” I growled and took up a pillow and threw it at Jacob. One wave of his hand and the pillow came flying towards me, I had to duck so that it didn't hit me. So much for wanting my mate.

The next morning, when I woke up, I got ready and made my way downstairs with a bag full of clothes and other things that Micah and I might need.
I noticed that not everyone was there as yet. Arlo and Micah were talking and laughing about something, I've always been a bit envious of their relationship, jealous yes but envious as well.
It wasn't like that with Jacob and I, even though we are best friends.
The bond between us wasn't as strong as it was with Arlo and Micah.
It made the devil in me angry, and I wanted nothing more than to get between them and break it up.
But, I knew that I couldn't so I just had to keep my thoughts to myself.
“Hey, love,” I said as I wrapped my arms around Micah's waist and kissed him on his neck.
I placed my hand on his stomach and started to gently rub circles on it. He relaxed into my arms and sighed.
“Are you alright now?” I chuckled at his question and turned him around so that he was facing me.
“Of course I am, ready to go to the hotel?” I asked, he nodded his head and smiled. I could tell that he was excited and seeing him happy, was all that I'd ever wanted to see.
“I'm swimming in the pool without my shirt on, though. Nuh uh, don't protest. It's going to be uncomfortable swimming in my shirt.” He replied, I groaned and gave in.
I didn't have the heart to say no to him as he stared at me with his beautiful brown eyes.
“Everything's packed, is everyone here?” Jacob asked, I looked around and saw that everyone was there already. I guess I was too focused on Micah to realize it.
“Then let's go, I'm going to teleport us there. I know just the perfect place for us to show up. So, make sure you have everything you need. I already booked rooms there for everyone, so you'll know where to go once we get to the reception area.” I patted the bag that I was carrying and took Micah's own from him.
Today will be a fun day for us, I'll make sure of it.
