“I can't believe it's only been a day since Landon and I got back, and there's already so much drama,” I muttered, shaking my head as I glanced at Arlo.

He chuckled, expertly bouncing Greyson on his knee while Mason lay beside him cooing and making all sorts of noises.

“Drama seems to follow you around like a shadow, Micah. What can I say? Everyone wants a piece of you… even my brother.” He shivered dramatically when mentioning Logan, making me groan in response.

“Don’t remind me! I still can’t believe it. I mean, I always brushed off the idea. When Landon told me Logan was in love with me, I laughed. I suck at reading people sometimes.” Arlo shot me a look, half-amused, half-serious.

“Oh, trust me, you’re not the only one who missed that. But, yeah… I could tell Logan's feelings weren’t just brotherly.” I should have seen it coming, but I couldn't pick up on Logan's feelings for me, which sucked.

“I threatened Landon before.” I blinked, confused when Arlo said that.

“What? You threatened Landon?” Arlo looked at me calmly, shifting Greyson to his other arm while fussing over Mason.

“Yeah, I did. I told him that if you ever broke down again, like you did last time, I’d take you away from him. I made it clear that I’d take you somewhere no one could find you—not Landon, not anyone.” I didn’t know what to say. The thought of Arlo threatening to take me away wasn't terrifying at all.

“You didn’t mean that, did you?” Arlo sighed, looking down at Jackson, who I was holding.

“At the time, I did. I was serious, Micah. If it meant protecting you, I’d do anything. But then I thought about it... I couldn’t do that. Not with the triplets to take care of. And besides, too many people would be on my ass if I tried something like that.” He glanced up at me with a small grin, clearly relieved at not having to follow through on his threat.

“Plus, do you know how many overprotective people are in my life? Jacob, for instance, would find me anywhere I teleported to. So, as much as I loved my plan, it wasn't going to work out.” I grinned at him, knowing that he was right.

“Well, I’m glad you came to your senses. And for the record, I don’t plan on breaking down again anytime soon.” Arlo shot me a knowing look, but he didn’t argue. Instead, he focused on getting Grayson and Mason settled.

“Good. Because as much as I love you, I don’t think I could handle the chaos if I followed through with my plan.” Arlo whispered.

After a moment of silence, he glanced at the triplets before turning to me and smiling.

“I still think your pup is going to be mated to my pups.” I raised an eyebrow at that.

“You’re still hung up on that idea?” Arlo grinned, his eyes sparkling with mischief.

“Of course I am. I mean, look at them! How could anyone resist these little guys? Plus, imagine how fun it’d be to have our kids mated. It’d make family gatherings interesting, to say the least.” I couldn’t help but laugh, the absurdity of it all easing the tension in my chest.

“You know, if our kids do end up mated, you’re going to have to deal with even more chaos,” Arlo said with a wink.

“And you think I’m not ready for that?” I asked while holding Jackson close.

“Well, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.”
