(Micah)

Landon walked in and slammed the door; I could see that he was still miserable about what happened at the pool, but he was trying to tame it a bit.

I grinned, thinking of something that came to mind. I knew it was risky bringing up the past, but I wanted to know what was going through his mind at the time.

"Hey Landon," I said, trying to get his attention as his mind was elsewhere. He walked over to me and sat down, so I proceeded with asking my question.

"Remember that time when you restrained me for wanting to climb a tree? What was going through your head when you did that?" He glared at me, making me smirk, since he hated talking about things like this.

"The tree was tall," he replied, making me laugh.

"It's true! You know, those trees in the forest are taller than regular trees! You would have been hurt if you fell, and I couldn't allow you to do that," I said. He was getting frustrated with my question while trying to avoid my gaze.

"They aren't that tall. Arlo and I chose the smallest ones to climb all the time. But yet, you overreacted and cuffed me to the bed. Aren't you sorry at all?" I asked, raising my eyebrow at him.

"I only wanted to protect you. You don't have a rank, and you would have been badly hurt if you had fallen out," he sighed as he ran his hand through his hair, showing me how much of a good job I had done cutting it.

"Even so, I could have still healed myself. But yet, you overreacted. Are you allergic to fun?" I asked, making him cringe.

"Of course I'm not. I allowed you to have fun today, didn't I?" he said. I shrugged my shoulders since he ruined the better half of my time. I wasn't doing anything wrong, yet he acted like a beast in front of everyone.

"What you call fun has a different meaning from mine. Maybe I need to show you. Since we are here, why don't we take a walk tomorrow and get familiar with the place? That way, you can see that there's nothing wrong with having a little fun," he started to consider my suggestion. I was waiting for him to say no, but when he said yes, I was shocked.

"Okay then, we have some exploring to do tomorrow!" I shouted, getting a bit excited about it.

"You'll have to use sunscreen and remember that you're pregnant. You can't wander off, so stay by my side at all times," he said. I groaned, making him pause as he looked at me with a confused expression on his face.

"I'm black, I don't need sunscreen," I replied, making him grin.

"You're mixed. You still have white in your blood, so yes, you do need sunscreen," he said. I didn't bother saying anything else and allowed him to have this one since I knew he wasn't going to let this go.

At least I got him to agree to tomorrow, which was exactly what we needed.
