(Micah)
The party was in full swing, and I was buzzing with excitement as I watched everyone celebrating Christian's first birthday.
The laughter and joy filled the pack house, wrapping around us like a warm embrace.
But I had my agenda for the day—what better way to celebrate than with a little chaos?
I had a prank in mind for Logan, Damon, Chris, Matt, Erick, and Elijah. The perfect target was Logan; I could already imagine the look on his face when I pulled this off.
“Hey, you guys!” I called out, trying to sound casual as I strolled past them, a smirk plastered on my face.
“I think I saw something shiny outside!” They turned their heads, intrigued. It was all too easy.
With a burst of energy, I took off running toward the back door, laughter bubbling up inside me as I heard their footsteps behind me.
“Get him!” I heard Logan shout, the competitive edge in his voice making me giggle harder.
I darted around tables, narrowly avoiding some excited toddlers who were more interested in cake than my little escapade.
I could hear the brothers laughing and shouting behind me, but I was too fast—at least for now.
As I rounded a corner, I suddenly found myself face-to-face with Marcus. Without a moment's hesitation, he scooped me up and held me hostage in his arms.
“Gotcha!” He declared triumphantly, and I squirmed in his grip, laughter spilling from my lips.
“No, Marcus! Let me go!” I laughed, but he was having none of it. I could hear the brothers closing in, and that only made me laugh harder as I wriggled in his grasp.
One by one, they took turns tickling me, each brother trying to outdo the others. I was a laughing mess, tears of joy streaming down my face as I begged for mercy, but the more I laughed, the more they tickled.
“Stop! I can’t take it!” I cried, my sides aching from the laughter. Just as I thought I might burst, Marcus finally set me down.
Landon was watching Logan closely from the sidelines, a protective expression on his face.
I could see him gauging whether Logan would pull any of his old tricks, but to my surprise, Logan seemed content just to enjoy the moment.
Landon eventually turned his attention back to Christian, who was busy playing with the triplets and other babies in the pack.
Feeling a rush of affection for him, I decided it was time to clear the air with Logan. I approached him, still catching my breath from the tickle torture.
“Hey, Logan,” I said, trying to keep my tone light.
“I forgive you for what you said about having feelings for me.” Logan looked at me, surprise flashing in his eyes before he nodded.
“Thanks, Micah. That means a lot. I’ve been trying to move on since Chandra is pregnant, and… it’s complicated.” Logan said.
“I get it,” I replied, feeling a weight lift off my shoulders. We stepped closer and shared a hug, a moment of understanding passing between us.
I was ready to move on, to focus on what mattered—my family, my friends, and the joy of today.
Before we could say anything more, my parents swooped in, pulling us apart with gentle hands.
“Micah! We need you for a picture with everyone!” Mom exclaimed, her voice full of excitement.
“Okay, okay!” I laughed, following them to where everyone had gathered, the energy buzzing around us.
As we posed, I felt a warmth in my chest seeing the smiles of my pack family all around. It felt good to be together, and I was grateful for the love we all shared.
After the picture was taken, I turned back to the festivities and saw Cory, Malachi, and Arlo huddled together, trying to strategize something mischievous.
It looked like they were planning a little throwback to the days before they found their mates, and I couldn’t resist joining in.
“What are you guys up to?” I asked, my curiosity piqued.
“Just some old-school fun,” Cory replied with a grin, his eyes glinting with mischief.
I felt a rush of excitement as we banded together, ready to create more laughter and memories.
Today was all about celebrating love, family, and the incredible bond we shared as a pack, and I couldn’t wait to see what mischief we would get into next.
