Penda POV
Today is the day of the party, after all the war and strife we decided to kick off the year with a celebration.
Helping with the food, I taste the frosting, adding a bit of love, I frost the cupcakes with joy. A new hobby, I've picked up, and something I've grown to admire and take much pride in.
"Penda where should I put the cakes?"
I look at the girl in a colorful apron, "Oh, you can set them in the dining room, center of the table! I bet Flora is done with the decorations by now."
She nods, rolling the cake off out of the kitchen. The chef stirs the food, tasting it, he frowns.
"No! No! No! It's not right! It's missing something!"
I put the spoon down, walking over I take a spoon to taste the broth. Thinking for a moment, I add a bit of spice and rosemary.
"Try it again."
He does as a smile edges on his face, "You're a genius!"
I smile, "Anytime, now I got to finish frosting these cupcakes before the party starts!"
He nods, finishing up the main food. Decorating the cakes I rush out of the kitchen to change into my dress. With golden shoes and a red sash that pops with the smooth white fabric, I meet up with the girls.
Bloom rushes over to us, slipping on her shoes.
Hearing the specialist come, we rush to the entrance, as Sky, Brandon, and Riven zoom down the path. Timmy flies down, and Tecna meets him halfway as he opens the ship's doors. Leading them inside the announcement starts.
Bloom leads us on stage, as Faragonda announces the school opening with golden birds flying through the sky. As the party continues, I hear an engine from afar. The sun begins to set as I put my drink down, Flora speaks softly.
She teases, "Are you going to meet your secret admirer?"
I blush a bit, "Maybe~"
She giggles, "Hurry before it gets too late."
Nodding I rush off into the woods, in the clearing, I see his bike but I don't see him. The sharp sound of a twig snapping makes me turn my head to see him.
"Noa."
He takes off his helmet, his smile bright as he walks over to me, "It's good to see you again Princess."
My cheeks burn, making him chuckle softly as he plants a kiss on my forehead.
"Sorry, I missed the party, had a last-minute mission."
I nod, not an ounce of malice or sadness at his words. You see, he skipped a grade or two and is registered as a Solo-Specialist. He's busy often taking orders from the Headmaster of Red Fountain but recently, he's made time to visit me.
I wrap my arms around him, taking in his calming scent, "I don't mind, I'm just glad you're here."
Pulling away I smile, "Before I forget."
I wave my hand as a plater of sweet treats form, "I made your favorite."
His eyes shine as he takes a cupcake, eating it thankfully, I can't help but giggle as a bit of frosting sits on the edge of his cheek. Wiping it away with my thumb, I look into his eyes warmly.
Placing his hand over mine, he leans into my touch, making me feel calm.
"I have good news."
I look up at him, waiting for his words.
