Chapter 12

Penda POV

Returning to school we try to think of a spell that can help Stella. Flora suggests that we allow the world to see her inner beauty first.

I nod in agreement making Stella frown, "Right now I'm not so sure my inner self is any prettier than my outer."

Holding Stella's hand I give her a soft smile, "Stella..."

But before I can say anything Noot walks up to Stella with flower stems and a silly smile on his face.

Stella thanks him, leaving the spell to hide her definitely on the table.

The pixies help find the perfect book, revealing the mirror of truth. Having the power to break the spell.

Stella returns to her room wanting some time alone. Getting ready, I meet up with her, waving my finger, I smile at the blond, "Don't worry I put the spell on him, he won't see your outer beauty only your inner self."

Slipping off the cloak Brandon greets her like he usually does. The only catch is, I never put a spell on him.

Brandon's love for Stella goes far beyond anything physical, but she will have to learn that on her own.

Flying through the snowy mist, ice builds up on the outside of the ship. The magical ice starts weighing us down.

With few options, we slow down considerably. Bloom suggests a power dive, making us get ready for the bumpy ride. Sitting by Noa, the world around me shakes as he dives we shoot to the clouds with great force.

Ice off I take a breath, looking over at Stella as she looks out the window worryingly.

The Griffin grips onto the ship firmly.

Transforming, we fly through the cold air. Bloom shoots it down, only for more to come. Attacking us we disperse.

Musa and Tecna deal with the other, leading us to protect the ship. Knocking the third bird off we bounce back.

Seeing a bigger bird we quickly realize that it's the mama griffin.

I shout, "I have an idea! Cover me!"

Flying down, I get closer to the bird trying to catch up with the slowing ship. My powers engulf my body, blinding the bird. As it lets go of the ship I lead it to the sky.

Flying after me I stop, but before it can attack, I speak up.

"We hurt your hurt your family, but we will no more!"

My power brings force to my voice, connecting to the animals.

The bird remains before me, as its children fly towards me weak and injured.

"Allow me to fix our mistakes."

Flying closer to them, I speak softly to the three birds, "Forgive us."

As my magic spreads through the air the griffins heal and strengthen. They calm down, the mama griffin looks at me before flying away.

Returning to the ship, I take a breath feeling warmth from the girls. We find the entrance to the cave. Slipping inside we continue hoping to find what we're looking for.

Seeing 5 pillars, they speak, Bloom asks for their help and they are willing to grant it.

Recognizing the dark magic placed on Stella, they explain that they'll find the mirror of truth when she finds herself.

Bloom stops Brandon from going after her but I step in between them.

"No, Brandon, go after her. Make sure she's safe."
