Penda POVI cry out in pain as the chains digging into my skin burn me, sucking the life out of me. Surrounded by Azazel's laughter of carnage and evil, images of destruction plague her mind.
Azazel's voice rings with amusement, "TikTok little fairy, the more cores I consume the closer you are to your doom."
I glare, "They will stop you!"
She laughs, causing my ears to ring, "At this rate, they one even be able to stand when I'm done with them. But fear not, I'll make you witness the destruction of their homes and yours before I swipe you off this world."
Tears prickle from my eyes as her fantasy illuminates her mind, of her killing all that I love, of her sitting on the top.
"Hurry, I know you can defeat them, I know you can."
No POV
Arriving at Oppositus, they transform, flying over the greenery. Tecna taps away on her holographic screen, "If my records are correct, there should be gates directly under the Capital of Oppositus. Flying under the floating city a half gold, half silver gate hangs closed.
Musa opens the doors, letting them hang, flying through the gate disappears behind them. Landing on the wall, gravity bends to their will, allowing them to walk on the side.
Tecna smiles, "It should be just ahead."
Looking around the barely lit hallway Bloom frowns, "Something's not right..."
The gates that were once closed slams open allowing monkey-like creatures to stumble in. With oversized teeth that bulge out their mouth and rabbit eyes, cured magic engulfs them as they roar. Layla puts up a shield but it quickly cracks, "Let's get the next piece and get out of here!"
Running down the hallway they slip into a room with no door in sight, tiles lay on the floor, and walls in patterns and designs.
Stella frowns, "Really? Now!?"
Hearing the monkey monsters scream and shout, Tecna rushes to figure out how to solve it.
"I got it! We have to land on the matching squares!"
Layla looks at her funny, "Really? That kinda goes against the whole purpose of this planet."
Tecna nods, "It's to throw intruders off."
Slipping inside they push the matching tiles in order, and the walls slit to reveal a door. As the tiles pop back out the mokey's roars eat louder and closer!
Musa shouts, "Let's go!"
Flying through the door the monkeys catch up, but as they step on the tiles randomly fill the room causing them to shrink to a miniature size. Stella stares at their tiny forms and gets caught between the tiles, "Huh, not so dangerous now."
Seeing the head of the scepter Flora walks up to grab it, Tecna shouts, "WAIT!"
Flora stops, looking at her, "That's not the piece. It's trapped."
Looking at the walls, she traces her dingers against the rocky blocks, noticing one is sized differently than the others she pushes it. The podium turns to dust, and the fabricated item melts, as the dust and melted gold slip into the cracks of the stone floor. Lighting up from below them the floors descend, taking them into a room laced with magical items. Including a bronzed scepter head, Flora grabs it and smiles, "Mission complete!"
Leaving the ruins, they go to Eraklyon to read the last riddle with both pieces in hand.
Opening the book Musa reads it, "Where Light Dies and Shines The Brightest, The Last Piece You Seek Never Stays In One Place but In The Light That Fades In Ache."
After some research they can't seem to narrow it down, not understanding at all. At first, they thought Solaria but no light dies there, then another planet but it doesn't seem to fit. Bloom has an idea, messaging her sister Daphne she hopes her knowledge will help her.
"Bloom! My beautiful little sister. What do I owe you the pleasure?"
Bloom smiles, "Daphne, we need your help, we can't figure out this riddle and we need to find the missing piece before it's too late."
Daphne grows serious, "I understand."
Resisting it, Daphne thinks for a moment, "Yes, your final piece will be located in a dying Star, most likely one that will explode sooner than later."
This shakes the girls, "Thanks, Daphne."
She smiles, "Of course, please be careful, I wish you luck."
Hanging up Tecna looks at the map, "I found a sun that will die soon. It's most likely in the core, there's no way to even get that close to one!"
Flora frowns, "It might take years for it to explode, and even if it does it'll just over to another one."
Bloom shakes her head, "I can try to help with the heat, hopefully, my magic will be enough. Let's go girls."
Taking a ship into space, they follow the coordinates arriving at the far stretch of the universe. Seeing the Red Giant they stop the ship. Bloom, Stella, and Musa transform, in a thick layer of magic to allow them to breathe they fly toward the sun. Engulfing the three in the dragon flame they grow closer. The closer they get the hotter it becomes, Musa shoots, "It's too powerful! We have to turn back!"
Bloom and Musa fall back but Stella stays put, "No. Penda didn't give up on me when we were in the Omega dimension. She didn't turn her back when I was at my lowest. I won't stop until we get the last piece!"
Stella flies closer, making Bloom shout, "STELLA NO! IT'S TOO HOT!"
She turns her head and smiles, "I'm the fairy of the shining sun! I can handle the heat!"
Holding out her hands she connects with the Red Giant, "Shine for me!"
Slowly the heat of the red giant starts to circle her, consuming the giant, and it begins to pick up the pace. Memories flash in her head as she shouts out, holding herself together as she absorbs the dying some. A freeze pushes Bloom, Musa, and the ship back, blinded by the sudden light they adjust to it. What once was a dying star is now a small dwarf planet. And in Stella's light, she feels stronger, more enlightened.
This is the power of Ultimix, to consume your original power and become one with it. Expanding, growing and truly becoming one with the universe.
Holding the staff, Stella opens her eyes, wings shining a brilliant golden red, and she smiles.
"I got it girls!"
Bloom and Musa engulf her in a warm hug while the others cheer for their success. Back on the ship, they assemble the pieces, creating the Golden Scepter.
Bloom holds it, "It's time to save Penda."
