AUTHOR'S NOTE➡Hey y'all. Ok, I really don't say that, but who cares? So, sorry about last chapter and that sucky update. I was not having a good week. Hopefully my writer's block is gone! I think in this update that I should be introducing more of my characters! (And not just Leigh's!) Thanks for commenting and voting so far! You guys make my day! *High-fives every person reading this* THANK YOU ALL! So I was looking back at some of my author notes and they are HUGE! I do not know how you guys put up with me! Now onto why you are all here...THE DARKLING. Saints' Speed -Anna
So last chapter messed up the last two paragraphs so I'm posting them again.

It released Alina from it's monsteress arms. She limply fell forward. Raleigh crouched beside Alina, crying and balling her eyes out. Raleigh started to shake her. "Mama! Mama, wake up! Pwease, Mama!"

The creature was still lurking about, so I sent a blazing arc of light through it's middle. Then I rushed to Alina's side and scooped Raleigh up into my arms. She clung to my neck, still crying nonstop. I guess she thought Alina was dead. "Shh, Rae, shh. Mama's okay. She's gonna be okay. Mama's just sleeping." Raleigh looked up at me with tears gleaming in her eyes. "Pwomise, sissy?"

Was Alina going to be alright? Looks like I was lying my way out of this one. "Promise, Rae. Now let's go get Bunny and Blankey.

I set Raleigh on the couch and turned to glance around the room. The Grisha were staring at me like I was a ghost, and the Darkling was indifferent. As always, I thought to myself.

My gaze settled on where Alina was still laying on the floor unconcious. I couldn't help but to think of the creatures. I shuddered.

"What...What were those things?" The Grisha looked terrified that I had asked. Were they really this scared of the Darkling? They had always treated him with respect, but this was just...fear.

Or maybe they were just terrified of me. It's not every day you see a Grisha besides the Darkling, use the Cut.

"How are you able to do the Cut?" He asked, completely bypassing my question with one of his own. I shrugged. "Why don't you tell me, Sherlock Holmes? Aren't you supposed to be an expert on Grisha since you rule them?" As soon as I said it I regreted it. Couldn't I learn to keep my mouth shut? Did I really have to back talk a man that can split me in half?
