43: Soft

Todoroki wakes up in cold sweat. He looks around to see where he's at. He takes deep breaths, trying to restore his breathing. He looks down at his wrist and sees the bracelet, gently he plays with it to keep his mind occupied.

There's just two more weeks before they get graduate. Todoroki doesn't know how to feel, he's nervous obviously. He wants to feel happy that he's made it this far but something is keeping him back.

He glances at his clock, it's 2am. He sighs as he knows he's going to be tired in the morning. But he can't go back to sleep and he knows that. Todoroki gets out from his bed and goes downstairs to the kitchen. The silence in the dorms is loud. Todoroki opens the fridge and looks for a drink.

He knows today is another exam which means he going to be tired later for it. He can't believe he made it this far. He wants to be proud of himself but the question that Bakugo gave him still nags him in the back of his head. Why does he want to be a hero? He doesn't know but he knows why he turned up here. It's because his father signed him up, just like he always does. He takes control of his life and doesn't ask what Todoroki wants.

The boy sighs and lays his head down on table. His cheek squished against the cold wood. Todoroki looks outside through the glass. It's still dark out but Todoroki can see the moon hiding behind the clouds, the stars blurred. He sits in silence as he enjoys the scenery.

There's something touching him. He moves his head as he leans more into it. He thinks it's a hand combing through his hair. But as he moves his neck, he can feel it sore. His back feels wrong, like he's someplace else besides a bed. He opens his eyes to find himself downstairs in the kitchen with Bakugo in front of him, his hand hovering and his face a little surprised.

"Todoroki?" He sits up from where he must've fell asleep watching the sky. His body is yelling at him from sleeping in a uncomfortable position and not in a bed.
"Peppermint, why'd you sleep down here?" Bakugo asks as he watches Todoroki stretch.

"I didn't mean to, I woke up in the middle of the night and came for a drink," Todoroki said as he yawns. His neck is stiff and he tries to move it.

"I can see that, you were snoring like a sleeping beauty with your hand around your cup," Bakugo chuckled. Todoroki rubs his neck trying to soothe the soreness. It's quiet between them, like last night. Todoroki doesn't know why he fell asleep so easily on the table last night but he's glad that it was only Bakugo that saw him like this.
"Y'know if you ever wake up in the middle of the night like that again and can't sleep, my door is always open," Bakugo says casually. It's a clear invitation that he wants Todoroki to know that it's okay for him to sleep in his room. The boy can feel his cheeks warm up.

"Thank you," Todoroki mumbled. He avoids the way Bakugo looks at him. Bakugo doesn't know exactly why he woke up but he has a pretty good idea. He wants Todoroki to feel safe in his dorm. But he can guess that it feels too much like home; which it does. That's why he wants the boy to live with him, so he can feel comfortable and safe.

Todoroki can feel his eyelids heavy and ready to close. He places his head against the table. Bakugo doesn't question him and simply throws his jacket over him. He continued to eat while Todoroki takes a nap. The next class is when they have their exam. He wants Todoroki to have enough rest. He wished he had went to bed last night or wished he had heard the boy last night so he could've scolded him for waking up and forced him to sleep.

The blond glances at the boy. He can see the dark circles appear back underneath. But the way Todoroki's cheek is squished against the table, his hair out of place, and Bakugo's jacket over him like a blanket makes his heart warm. It's such a rare sight to see from Todoroki. Bakugo would literally kill to see this more often. His face looks relaxed, from time there'll be a little scrunch to his nose or mumbling coming from him which the blond can't hear. Bakugo smiles and runs his hand through his hair, gently moving the strands from his face behind his ear.

"Bakubro, what are you doing?" The blond fucking flinches away from the boy to see where the voice came from. It's stupid shitty hair and he holds himself together to not yell since Todoroki is right next to him sleeping.

"Nothing, the hell do you want?" Bakugo grumbled as he folded his arms. Kirishima has a stupid smile on his face and Bakugo wants to punch it off.

"Aw Bakubro your such a softie to Todobro," Kirishima smiled as he wipes a fake tear.

"I swear to god if it wasn't for the fact he is sleeping right next to me right now, I would've yelled at you," Bakugo says, clearly agitated and trying to keep himself together. Kirishima does this face where Bakugo has to grip his arm to not punch him.

"So cute," Kirishima cries.

"I'm gonna punch you if you don't get the fuck away," Bakugo says, his arms unfolding and Kirishima takes a small step back just in case.

"Sorry sorry, I just wanted to tell you about the party the class is having," this catches Bakugo's attention.

"What party?"

"There's party the class is having, it's near the end of the year like right before we graduate," Kirishima explains. He then goes on about how everyone wants to say a proper goodbye before they all go to their agencies. Bakugo seems interested and glances at Todoroki who is still sleeping blissfully unaware. A smile creeps on his lips. This could be good for him, it'll be a great way for Todoroki to say goodbye to everyone.

"Aw Bakubro, your so in love with him," Kirishima said, a little sincere this time.

"Shut the hell up before he wakes up," Bakugo grumbled. But he can't fight the smile that forms on his lips whenever he looks at him.
"But yeah I'll tell him about it and we'll most likely will be there," Bakugo said. Kirishima nods and walks away back to his table.
